  1. If a person in a senior position is sexually involved with someone whom he/she knows at work, usually most people there have some knowledge. Multiple times = everyone knows.
  2. CNN Savannah Guthrie made the announcement at the top of the "Today" show. "We are devastated," she said. The "Today" show is one of the most popular and most profitable franchises on American television. Lauer was the cornerstone of the program for two decades. So his sudden ouster came as a shock to viewers -- but not as a complete surprise to his "Today" show colleagues. They knew that multiple news outlets were investigating Lauer's off-camera conduct. NBC News chairman Andrew Lack said in an early morning memo to staff that the complaint was filed on Monday night. Lack said it was the first complaint lodged against Lauer in his career at the network. But he also said "we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident." Indeed, Lack and other NBC News executives have known for weeks that damaging stories could be coming out soon. Reporters for The New York Times have been investigating Lauer for weeks, according to sources who had been contacted by the Times.
  3. https://www.politico.com/story/2017/11/29/matt-lauer-fired-from-nbc-for-inappropriate-sexual-behavior-267887 by Michael Calderone The news was quickly seized upon by the country’s most famous watcher of TV morning shows. “Wow, Matt Lauer was just fired from NBC for ‘inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace,” tweeted President Donald Trump. “But when will the top executives at NBC & Comcast be fired for putting out so much Fake News. Check out Andy Lack’s past!” Donald Trump calling attention to himself ---just can not stop himself. Admin Note: Your reply belongs in the Politics Forum.
  4. I spent a small part of my work life dealing with realtors. Sweden is my favorite European country, but not Fredrik. The show needed a strong contrast to Ryan, and Fredrik provides it. Let's agree though that some of the show is fake, probably much more than I realize.
  5. As a physical comic, few people got more laughs and higher ratings than Lucille Ball in "I Love Lucy." I was too young to watch the first few seasons of ILL, but certainly the later seasons. It's possible I did not have a TV when "Golden Girls" was on the air. In real life Jack Benny and Mary Livington lived next door to Lucy and Desi Arnaz for many years on Roxbury Dr. in Beverly Hills.
  6. Bob Hope died in 2003 at age 100. The publicity for this PBS American Masters special maintains Bob Hope was successful in every branch of show business. If true, why has he remembered only for his many Christmas USO tours? Dick Cavett provides the best explanation: Bob Hope almost never talked about his family or personal life, except occasional kind jokes about his wife, Delores, who also lived a very long life. Hope was a first-rate stand-up comic who appeared often in specials and hosted the Academy Awards for many years, appeared in dozens of films (often with Bing Crosby) and starred on Broadway with Ethel Merman. Perhaps his USO tours during the Vietnam war did him in. Bob was a proud & relentless hawk on Vietnam. I was not the only one who refused to see him in Vietnam at Christmas 1968. Hope was performing only a few miles away and I could have easily driven there in my jeep. (I am unsure if this post should have been posted in the political forum.)
