I’m finally reading the big bestseller DEMON COPPERHEAD by Barbara Kingsolver — which was inspired by DAVID COPPERFIELD by Dickens, but tackles poverty and Opioid addiction in Appalachia. It’s a total page turner so far.

Anyone care that Djokovic is probably going to win his 100th tournament this weekend in Miami? With Jimmy Connors at 109 and Federer at 106, this is one of the very few records he does not hold. on the other hand, so many teenagers (including Mensik who he’ll play in the final) and other young players making big waves at IW and Miami. I’m pulling for a Ben Shelton / Carlos Alcaraz semi in the bottom half, and a Stefanos Tsitsipas / Tommy Paul semi in the top. Obvs Medvedev & Fritz are still in it, but doesn’t feel like they have much momentum so far this year. Carlitos is gonna win it again (most likely).

I saw it in the theater last Fall. It’s kinda quiet and slow, but definitely a beautiful & powerful film, esp w these 2 incredible actresses. I thought it was an interesting choice/direction for Almodovar’s first English-language feature.
