  1. Check the weather forecast for Montreal. Love Montreal but it could still be pretty cold there. If you do get to Campus let us know if they have set up their "Daddy's Room" as their website promised and what it's like.
  2. Sounds like fun. I'm really looking forwward to it. Hope they won't mind a grand daddy. If it is as good as they are making it sound I wouldn't mind a cover charge.
  3. Watched Skate America on TV. His quad axel was unbelivable. He not only got all the way around but executed flawlessly. It's impossible but he did it. Many, many years ago when I skated a double axel was a highlight of male free skating. I could barely do a single. Needless to say I didn't last long. Still miss true artistry in skating. It really doesn't exist anymore. John Curry, Robin Cousins, Brian Boitano. I'll never forget Boitano's Olympic short program to Meyerbeer which was like a young man showing off on a pond. Even wiping the snow off his blade. A wonderful piece of theater on ice. Always reminded me of Ashton's "Les Patineurs". These days most long programs look the same - 3 jumping passes, some spins and footwork to kill time until they get to the bonus time then 4 more jumping passes. So boring the even at 4 minutes I'm thinking "When will this end."
  4. The article is very interesting. One take away for me is the new owner's background in porn. His contacts are undoubtedly the reason for the high number of dancers that the other bars can't match. We can guess why that is (monkypox, covid, only fans) but no way of knowing for sure. I'll add one more to the mix i.e., the circle of:: Lots of good looking dancers = more customers - More customers = more income for the dancers = more good looking dancers Few or no dancers = few customers - Few customers = dwindling number or no dancers Hope I'm making some sense with the above.
  5. Thanks for your report LD. My husband and I have beeen going to Montreal for over 20 years and share your love for the city. We hope that the Village will rebound.
  6. That would be another flight of stairs. Good luck with that. Even now the stairs are difficult for me. In the past my spouse had to go upstairs and get someone to bring the elevator down to get me. Is that still the case? Does anyone know if the elevator is workiing now?
  7. Any idea what "BQ Garden" is? Anybody going?
  8. Got the vaccine in Montreal on a Thursday afternoon by Friday my thighs were very, very weak to the point of almost falling. My husband and taxi driver had to help me into a taxi to get me back to the hotel. Weakness and soreness continued till Sunday although getting better each day. My husband got the vaccine the same day and his legs were sore but not severe. Perhaps my advanced age contributed to the reaction. Spoke to several dancers at Taboo who told be they had sore thighs but nothing severe.
  9. Forgot to add that none of the dancers at Taboo do their second dance fully nude. Some show their dicks but some don't.
  10. We were in Montreal July 14-18. It was good to be back after three years. Covid has devastated St. Catherine street. Many stores and restaurants closed. No balls overhead and it felt funny without them like you were walking along with the roof missing. Seemed like there were more homeless than in the past along St. Catherine. Warning many of the banks along St. Catherine close access to their ATMs around 5PM so if you need cash get it early. This trip we only went to Taboo. It was pretty empty Thursday, Friday and Saturday with only about 7 twink type dancers each night. Sunday was a nice crowd for Jerry's anniversary and maybe 12 dancers. Even with small crowd and few dancers we still enjoyed ourselves. Some of the dancer's: Rodrigo - Great body. ABs like steel. Not very interactive in private. Emilio - Nice personality good in private. Candle - Hot. Good in private. I wanted to do more than my usual two dances. Might try to arrange a meeting next time. Stevie - Tall. Nice body. Nice cock. Very long hair. Lots of energy. Fun to talk to and good in back if you can ignore the very long hair. Also might try to arrange a meeting next time. Damian - Very tall and slim. OK in private but somehow I really felt the transactional aspect more with him. We did not hire this time around. Two nice dinners each at Carte Blanche (on Ontario and Wolfe) which offers Table d’Hote for $61 Cdn and is a bring your own wine and Toro Rosso on St. Catherine. All in all if you like Montreal as we do then go but it's certainly not booming.
  11. Yes the views are still great. And you can see the shows in the park when they have them.
  12. Reservation was made in December 2021. For four nights - Thursday to Monday check out. Rate was $1293.75 Canadian which is about $1015.43 US or $253.86 US per night at that time. To me that's an OK rate for what you get. I think the rates on their website are higher now.
  13. We stayed at the Hyatt Place (former Gouveneur ) this weekend. The renovation is not completely finished. Thursday and Friday they were still delivering large boxes of furniture and fixtures causing the street in front of the hotel to be closed. Taxis could not pick up or drop off in front. One part of the lobby is not finished. The overall décor is modern and I found it cold but not unpleasant. The mezzanine is very nice. Excellent free computers and printer so it was a snap to check in with the airline and print boarding passes. The breakfast area is the same as the old Gouveneur. Buffet breakfast is good with lots of options and free. We had booked a king bed on a high floor. The room was unfinished. Closet unfinished, no safe. Requested a change of room. Got a two queen bed on the 20th floor. It was good. Certainly much better than the Gouveneur when it was on its last legs. At check in requested daily service so we could get fresh towels daily. Service was very good. Design flaws: Light in the bathroom is around the mirror and it is impossible to see to shave. If the designer is male he should be forced to try to shave in it and if female should be forced to try to but on makeup. The handle that turns on the shower regulates both the flow and the hot water so when you get in you need to stay out of the way until you can turn the handle to warm. Water pressure is very good. The safe is set so low in the closet you have to get down on you knees the access it. Door to the closet and bathroom is a sliding door and you need to be careful that when your coming out of the bathroom you don't slide the door into you partner who is accessing the closet. I booked the room using a Visa card that charged a foreign transaction and wanted to change it. Stupid me. I asked at reception 3 different times and 3 different people told me "come to reception when you check out and we'll change it". Morning of check out I went to reception and the bill was charged overnight to the original card. They did issue a credit to that card and I paid with the new. We'll see how that works out. I know, long story. The good out weighs the flaws and being hopeless romantics my husband having many memories there and will stay there again in August - Covid willing.
  14. Thanks to all members who keep us up-to-date on monkeypox with links to articles, etc. I really appreciate your efforts. My husband and I arrived in Montreal the afternoon of July 14. After checking in at the Hyatt Place we walked the few blocks to the clinic arriving about 3PM with no appointment. The intake process took maybe 15 minutes and there was no problem that we were from the U.S. We got the shot and waited the mandatory 15 minutes. All in all about a 40 minute visit. I did have a rather severe reaction the next day. Soreness and fatigue in my thighs while out sightseeing that was so severe I was in danger of falling down. My husband and the taxi driver had to help me into the taxi. The fatigue lessened every day but my legs were still pretty weak until July 18 when I was feeling pretty much OK. I'm attributing this reaction to my age. I'm going to ask my GP about it when I see him Friday.
  15. As to where should you go - In the past Taboo has had mostly twink types, Stock muscular "straight" types, Campus in the afternoon (3 PM on) was twinks (but often not many) and at night (9 PM on) muscular types. There is also Expose (the old Adonis) which I haven't been to in years but from their Facebook page looks pretty lively. Have never been to the baths and I won't start now with the monkeypox outbreak. (Who am I kidding I'm too old anyway.) My husband and I had been to Montreal regularly over the years but haven't been there in three years due to covid concerns but I gather the strip clubs are pretty much the same. Make sure you get the arrivecan app and do the necessary paperwork before you go.
  16. I was wondering what the party on July 3 was for. Did a google translate on "d'anniversaire" and found that means birthday. This party on July 17 is apparently for his 10 anniversary as proprietor of Taboo. It's been 10 years since he rescued Taboo after it was run into the ground and closed due to that horrible American owner.
  17. Thanks for the info Luv2play. Is cost covered by insurance? I'm on medicare.
  18. Was anyone there? I'm wondering what year anniversary it was.
  19. Forgot to add is the Manscaped Lawn Mower any good? Thanks for your help.
  20. There have been posts about this years ago. I'm looking for updated info.
  21. Would love to hear about him. Just my type. Will be visiting Montreal next month.
  22. Do you have to be a Canadian citizen?
  23. Wonder if that's a reaction to the risk of monkeypox. Seems way excessive to me. Were there any extras mentioned?
  24. I second what Blackout351 said above but will add my two cents that it is VERY important that once you get to the backroom you immediately tell the dancer how many songs you want to do and that he let you know when you get to that number. It doesn't have to be rough or aggressive. Something like: "Just two dances. OK?" "Let me know when we've done two." You can always extend if you want. That's always worked for me. As to what happens, I've always just played it by ear and let the dancer take the lead. If he's waving "it" in your face you could ask "Is it OK if I.....?" Answers will can vary from "OK" to asking for more money.
  25. Thanks Jake. From the social media posts I was worried what Taboo and Expose were turning into. I feel a lot better about my trip in July. My husband and I used to go to Montreal every summer - most time twice but haven't been since 2019 due to Covid. We like the same type as you and Taboo was our go to club.
