Are you talking about Steven Draker or about Jean Claude Vandamme (born Van Varenberg)? I believe Jean Claude is French-speaking, from Brussels, Belgium. In Belgium, it is not unusual for Flemish people to have French names and for Walloons to have Flemish names. Jean Claude in his early life was an attendant at a ladies' hair salon.
