I reached out to Metrix (https://rent.men/Metrix) of Houston yesterday, as his pictures appealed to me. Asked what his overnight rate and weekend rate were. Told him I would fly him out to Los Angeles to see me, which he was excited for. His rates were reasonable and agreeable to me, but then he came back with this: Yes of course for the safety of both that is fine I have no problem, something I do when I travel for someone is that I ask for a part of the money in this case you would have to send me $ 1000 in advance plus the ticket for me to also make sure that everything is Real, you know that this lends itself a lot to people who only do is bother once someone travels and never showed up. trouble So I retorted I don’t do deposits, and that me buying him a round trip ticket was his deposit. On a related note, I hired someone several years ago that wanted his full money up front, and only told me when he arrived at my house. I told him I wasn’t comfortable with that, as it wasn’t brought up beforehand. I told him I’d give him half now, and half when we were done, and he was ok with that. The session was ok, but not the greatest. Several months go by and he reaches out again that he’s in town, and if I’d like to meet up. I thought to myself, “Why not?” So I did. When he arrived, he also asked for money up front. I asked him, “We met up only a few months ago, why would you ask me for money up front again? I paid you what you asked.” His response was, “To make sure I can provide the best session for you.” I didn’t reply back, as I didn’t want this session to go bad, but I was taken back that his abilities to give the best possible session were based on money-up-front. I was reliable. I paid last time. I chose to have him out again. I never repeated after that.

In my experience over the last 16 years, the ones who requested deposits were my worst hires, and I never repeated those people. It’s almost like they knew they weren’t that great, or were hiding something, shorted time, or some other negative aspect.

Sounds like he finally adjusted his rates to a price more in line with current standard, and not the $500 to top or $1,000 to bottom BS.

I inquired him about his rates when he was in LA last week. $400 per hour. No multi-hour rates. Then he kept hounding me about when we could meet. I wasn’t in the right head space from family issues, so I never pursued. I probably would have pursued further if the rate was $250-300, but once they cross that $300 hourly, I really, really would want to have to meet them. Plus only two reviews close together doesn’t give me a lot of hope his pictures match.

I find these rates very reasonable and agreeable, and I would totally do this. However, the guy I mentioned above really has no multi-hour break. A measly $100 off a three hour rate of $1,200? For $1,200, you can still get a quality overnight.

Don’t EVER assume that the higher price equals a better assurance you’ll have a good time. I paid a premium price for a former porn star one time that was NOT worth the higher price. I also hired one off the old Craigslist ad for $100 about five years ago. He was better than the porn star.

No deposits for me. I've been ripped off before, have seen friends ripped off before, and read it on these forums too many times before. Too easy to "take the money and run". I even had one guy I bought and paid a round-trip airline ticket for from the East Coast. Once I bought the ticket, he asked for a deposit. I told him the plane ticket I just bought for him WAS the deposit. He insisted still on the deposit, so I canceled the plane ticket within the 24-hour window.

Yeah, you would think that if he was well-reviewed as "Bradley Black", and a good reputation with that name brand with multiple good reviews and comments, why would he start a new profile? Both pictures are from each profile are the same, although the old "Bradley Black" profile used to have a lot more pictures in it. I had reached out to him in the past about flying him out to California, but he never seemed interested in traveling.

The original "Josh" looks younger and smoother (the way I like them) than the "JoshNinePlus" you mentioned. I would've been interested, but only one picture in his profile is a red flag for me. It's also kinda weird he shows his travels, but now his ad is expired.
