  1. East of Eighth beside the Clearview cinema at Eighth Ave and 23rd Street.

     

    Food is dependably good but will never get 4 stars. It's a mixed crowd but in Chelsea, they're used to celebrating gays. For a crowd that size, you may want to call ahead for a reservation. Depending on the scheduling, the staff can be quite flirty especially if your guests are as hot as you - or one of them recognizes your occupation (which is quite possible). Cuisine is varied and prices are reasonable

    Now the Dish at Eighth Ave and 20th Street is probably cheaper and flirtier (lots muscleboys some of whom escort and their clients or clack - including me sometimes) but it's really a Greek dinner on steroids and may not be suitably worthy of a significant birthday celebration. And the Dish may relegate a crowd your size to its upper level which takes away some of the vicious fun of watching the flora and fauna prancing up and down the Eighth Avenue.

     

    If there's a call for a specific cuisine, Italian, Thai, Chinese, just let us Gothamites know.
