November 2021- A Good Time To Travel To Broadway?
BSR replied to + Lucky's topic in Live Theater & Broadway
I say go for it. Even if Broadway is still shuttered in Nov 2021 (yikes, God forbid), NYC has so much to offer, even in quasi-lockdown. Worst-case scenario, you hook up with a few escorts. -
I prefer the truth. You apparently prefer lies.

Did you read The Book of Matt? I did. The reporting is pretty solid. Plenty of dealers don't use the drug they sell. Did the killers' assumption that Shepard had a large meth stash make sense? No, but drug addicts often don't think clearly. Was the attack sickeningly violent and sadistic? Absolutely! Not just violence but ultra-violence is one of the tragic symptoms of meth addiction. Matthew Shepard's death was a tragedy. No human being should ever endure the torture and agony that Shepard did. But the truth matters. The gay left's martyrization of Shepard crumbles when the truth emerges.

I consider each case individually. Many LGBTs still endure bullying & homophobia. On the flip side, many cases of LGBT hate crimes turned out to be hoaxes. Matthew Shepard's death is tragic. The pain he must have suffered is horrifying. But it wasn't a hate crime. Read The Book of Matt, then tell me if you still think he was the victim of a hate crime.

Matthew Shepard's killers were savages, but they did not hate him. They were ultra-violent meth addicts (violence is one of many sad consequences of meth addiction) who were after Shepard because they thought he was holding a large stash of meth (Shepard was a meth dealer). If anyone wants to know the truth about Matthew Shepard's death, please read The Book of Matt: Hidden Truths about the Murder of Matthew Shepard. Mythology and truth are two different things.

If you're not a Rafa or Novak fan, I can see why you're feeling meh about this final. But for us Big 3 aficionados, Rafa-Novak LVI is simply delicious. If Rafa wins, he'll tie Roger's record of 20 Grand Slam singles titles. If Novak wins, he will be the first player ever to beat Rafa in a Roland Garros final (where Rafa has an eye-popping 12-0 record), will complete the double career Grand Slam (at least 2 titles at each of the 4 majors), and will reach 18 Slams (2 short of Roger, just 1 behind Rafa, plus he goes into the 2021 Australian Open as the overwhelming favorite). If the knock on yet another Rafa-Novak final is the playing style, I get it. The matchup doesn't produce the most interesting point constructiom - a lot of endless rallies of Rafa's forehand crosscourt into Novak's 2-hander, ad infinitum. But for drama & tennis history, tomorrow's final is off the charts.

I'm guessing this is Uruguay's national soccer team.

No, unfortunately, never. I saw an interview with him where he said a couple of things were non-starters for him: bareback sex and escorting.

I can see why you assumed I was referring specifically to you - I replied to your post, after all. But I wasn't referring to you specifically, not at all. In many other threads, however, a lot of clients get unbelievably nasty when an escort posts a high rate. And yeah, that bothers me. But not the case with your post, as you point out, you were just providing information. I apologize for my post.
-
I hate it when clients condemn or berate an escort who lists a high rate. As a big believer in the free market, I tip my hat to this guy if he can command such a fee. There are plenty of prospective clients, albeit difficult to find, who can (easily) afford $6K for a weekend. But as one of ordinary means, my response to six grand for a weekend is ... I didn't know Ainhoa because of her opera career (I don't follow opera much) but did see her as a judge on "Prodigios," a talent competition for young (10-16yo) opera singers, classical musicians, and ballet dancers. She is so wonderfully helpful to the young singers, with constructive criticism and technical advice, that I've become a big fan. She is currently competing on Masterchef Celebrity. Uh, let's just say she should stick with the singing.

Not as famous as the opera superstars you mentioned, but did you ever run into Spanish soprano Ainhoa Arteta? You didn't say where you met the opera world celebs, but since she lived in NYC for 17 years, I imagine she was pretty well known on this side of the Atlantic.

A lot of native Spanish speakers say "moment" in English when the better translation is "time." Another clue that English is a second language for him is the use of the infinitive ("to feel comfortable") when most native English speakers would probably say "feeling comfortable." That said, I have no idea if his ad is legit or not. I don't see anything in it that convinces me in either direction.

It's hard to believe that he didn't notice his bulge prior to that "oh sh*t" moment, but hey, I ain't complaining.

Even though I'm not into twinks at all, Kurt Wilde flipped my skirt (not that I can ever recall wearing a skirt).

Brenn Wyson, aside from the physical attributes, the Bahstuhn accent drove me nuckin' futs.

On my aunt & uncle's next Australia trip, my uncle wants to go to Rottnest Island and hang out with the quokkas. He saw a bunch of tennis players taking pictures with quokkas and thought they were the cutest little creatures he had ever seen, like chubby miniature kangaroos. They're lucky in that as a United Airlines retiree, they get cheap flights & hotel discounts everywhere. I doubt they would travel all the way to Perth otherwise, no matter how adorable quokkas are.
-
I agree. After my aunt & uncle's first trip to Australia, of course they shared all their stories and photos with their (adult) children. At that point, they were dismayed to find out that their children (and now their 3 grandkids) knew almost nothing about Australia.
-
I do know something about Australia, but mostly because I'm a big tennis fan. Whenever they say where a player is from, I look it up on Google Maps. So on a blank map of Australia, I'm pretty sure I can pinpoint most of the cities. I even know where Mt. Issa is! (thank you, Patrick Rafter) Plus I hear things about the country (this year's wildfires, for example) watching the AO every year. I also hear about it a lot because an aunt & uncle who live in Manila travel there often - 4 trips already, with another planned as soon as Covid19 passes. They simply love it and more than anything love Aussie people. But yeah, without tennis & my aunt, I don't know if I'd know much about Australia.

I don't know if older athletes are taking miracle anti-aging drugs, but I do know that top-ranked tennis players have a huge advantage over lower-ranked ones because they can afford to pay full-time teams of physiotherapists, physical trainers, nutritionists, etc. When top-ranked doubles team Cabal & Farah hired a physio to travel with them full-time, they said they couldn't believe what a difference it made. At last year's US Open, Novak had a "recovery truck" waiting for him after his matches (for ice baths, icing down specific body parts, massages to get rid of lactic acid, specialized concoctions of foods & fluids, and God knows what else). How much do you think all that cost? And how many players outside of the very wealthy few can afford it? Meanwhile, lower-ranked players can't even afford a full-time coach, forget the squadron of specialists that the top players employ.
