You can safely walk up and down magazine street in the garden district for miles with tons of amazing shops and restaurants and Galleries. Esp during the day. But it’s hot as hell too right now probably until October French Quarter is fairly safe itself but if you stray just one block in the wrong direction after dark you could get mugged. Seriously. I know several locals who agree so after dark if you want to go to or from the French quarter just be sure to hire a cab. It’s doable. And totally worth visiting …. despite the caution needed.

Went a second time; again amazing massage. MT allowed but that’s the limit.. was hoping there’s a bit more on the menu. Not sure the value/experience/cost ratio is right (for me anyway).

I had a guy collect his fee from me in the doorway just as I walked in the door, only to then realize that (1) the place was filthy (2) someone else was in the living room apparently watching over everyone and (3) the “bedroom” had a single bed “cot” inside that I didn’t even want to sit on .. much less anything else do anything else on. I tried to ask for my money back, had my spidey sense go off when he resisted my request… and I just quickly walked out the door. stupid tax indeed. No gets cash before the deal. Period.

Not wanting to compromise anyone but you might consider hiring a massage guy and see if more might be on the menu. I know of at least one hottie in Austin who also does personal training and has offered me additional services.

So…when hiring through rent masseur you’re obviously paying a premium that costs more than just a massage. In most cases, MT and a HE are included. so if you’re already paying a Premium and nothing else happens (not complaining, just setting up the example) Then what is a fair tip percentage for a decent massage? 10,15,20 percent? Any? Thanks for weighing in!

I had an enjoyable massage and HE … his body is wow. And at the same time there is a subtle but meaningful difference when a guy’s confidence becomes .., a bit much. He’s a decent guy. But I guess I’m partial to guys who are a little less jaded and more eager to please bc it’s still fun for them…as opposed to feeling like you’re a widget on a production line.
