  1. Price increases to accommodate an inflationary environment in itself is not the issue, but it's how a business entity goes about properly notifying their clientele about it. The problem with many of these independent masseurs is that they are often completely clueless on how to handle business end of things, with setting proper client expectations being one of the most crucial elements. A client being told of such a price increase (with an explanation) *before* an appointment is booked makes a world of difference for a client's overall experience and so many of these masseurs just do not understand this. Most clients would accept the increase and understand the justification behind it, and some that do not wish to accept the increase can simply refuse the newly increased price.
  2. That's shady. Another way to lose a repeat client.
  3. I agree with jamie21 that you dodged a bullet. A masseur should have his business end of things together and learn to set proper expectations for clients. He lost your business by passive-aggressively upcharging you $20 without any reason and you simply asked about the price difference. His loss.
  4. For me, Ben (blissbodywork) was a-OK. Saw him couple of times and do not plan to repeat.
  5. Also I am not at liberty to comment about Toni, but I would be very surprised if he actually has any sort of professional/classroom massage training at all. My advice is to save your precious money and time and use it on another masseur instead who actually knows what he is doing.
  6. I located Julian's insta page: https://www.instagram.com/julhorne and based on several of his photos, looks like he could be a deli type of masseur. 😉
  7. AJ says he is bi but he is more of an open minded straight guy - he doesn't get hard. I saw him once and his deep kneading skills are top notch. Punctuality is definitely not his strength and do not plan to see him again.
  8. This isn't very encouraging I must say. He lies by listing his height at 5'10" on his RM profile and that's a significant discrepancy. With this review I am going to hold off on hiring him.
  9. He's a gay masseur and a YMMV provider. You'll see my comments in the thread that marccliff provided.
  10. I have mixed feelings about this situation but at least he had the decency to let you know 9 hours ahead of time. It's still much better than a no call, no show at the last minute and having a big chunk of your day wasted.
  11. You just saved me my precious time and money. What a shame.
  12. Looks like he disabled his RM profile.
  13. Typically when a masseur posts a photo of his massage license on his MF profile, he is just therapeutic. However, at his super competitive rates, you would have very little to lose if you wanted some legit kneading done to get stubborn knots out of your body without any sensual elements.
  14. I hear you loud and clear. I hope your reporting it to RM leads to some sort of an effective outcome. Hate it when masseurs scam customers and steal their money. I always like to remind myself that if a spa of a high end hotel does not require deposits for an appointment, then no masseurs have the right to request it, no matter how great or amazing they may seem.
  15. See this thread on deposits that began yesterday: As a rule of thumb, I never pay a deposit on in or outcalls and I am a firm believer that no one should pay a deposit for a massage.
  16. If he has legit kneading techniques, I'd be interested as well.
  17. Yup his ridiculously high hourly rate is the reason why I never hired him.
  18. He's a name changer. Don't remember his previous profile name(s) but there is definitely a thread or more of chats about him.
  19. Curious on no testimonials on his profile in spite of it being over 2.5 years old.
  20. Has anyone seen this guy lately that's received a sensual massage? Reflexology on RentMasseur RENTMASSEUR.COM View my profile on RentMasseur.com Based on this Long Island thread where he is one of a handful of masseurs listed, Claudio seems to be strictly therapeutic: https://www.companyofmen.org/topic/98787-long-island/?do=findComment&comment=1914190
  21. Well said.
  22. Surprised he describes his build as "muscular" when it is clearly an average body.
  23. Wow with the numerous glowing five-star reviews he has received, I wonder why he is keeping his rates so low at $110/60 mins and $150/90 mins. Unheard of these days especially with the post-covid economic inflation and cost of living.
  24. This is why I love this forum. You saved me precious time and money. Won't spend $180/hr for a mediocre bed massage.
  25. Has anyone seen this hottie?: https://www.masseurfinder.com/massage-therapists/45967/ Claims to have 6 years of experience but his MF profile seems fairly new.
