Ran across an interesting article about Cobra Video suing a former model for providing them with false ID. I'm glad the industry is taking this issue seriously.

In a Feb. 13 press release announcing this latest lawsuit, Cobra Video stated, "Cobra Video alleges that Lockhart who had used Cobra's trade name 'Brent Corrigan' had misappropriated said name to compete in bad faith against Cobra Video. Defendant Lockhart had also alleged he used forged documents in order to work for Cobra Video in four productions which had been immediately removed from the market pending his actions."

Lockhart, through his attorney Chad Belville, says that the ID he presented to Cobra owner/director Bryan Kocis was forged and that he was 17 at the time the four videos were shot. Lockhart told GAYVN that he had performed in several additional videos for Cobra after he turned 18, but that Cobra does not have valid ID's for those movies...

I'm glad that the industry is taking this seriously. I just hope they don't send this kid to the poor house.

Here's some follow-up info on this story:

While many porn scribes were busy jotting down winners of The 2006 GayVN Awards at the ceremony held in West Hollywood this past weekend, JASON SECHREST of JasonCurious.com was upstairs in a dark corner booth having a private chat with BRENT CORRIGAN, the gay XXX bareback video performer who claims he was underage during all of his movies made with Cobra Video, with the exception of their most recent release, "Cream BBoys."

"He nearly blended in with the crowd, dressed in a white wife beater and blue jeans," says SECHREST. "Fortunately, I spotted him. And even more fortunately, he was willing to talk."

CORRIGAN did more than talk, as told in the exclusive story to be published in Jason's daily column "Jason's News Desk" later this afternoon at JasonCurious.com. SECHREST says within minutes of meeting the performer, he refused to continue with the conversation unless CORRIGAN was willing to show him his driver's license. He did and SECHREST held in his hands the evidence Cobra Video has been wanting for months.

"He's the real thing," said SECHREST in a statment made early this morning. "He was born in 1986. Do the math."

CORRIGAN proceeded to give SECHREST an impromptu interview, explaining why he has not handed over evidence to Cobra Video, as well as his intentions for furthering his work in adult entertainment.

"It was obvious to me that he genuinely cares about his fan base and wants them to know the truth," says SECHREST. "My hope, actually, is that he comes on my radio show and clears the air publically so that his fans can hear what he has to say from him directly. That platform is definitely open to him whenever he's ready to discuss things in further depth and promote his web site and other upcoming business ventures."

CORRIGAN's exclusive interview with SECHREST will also be featured in the weekly syndicated version of "Jason's News Desk," published everywhere from Gay.com to Odyssey magazine.
