Just like some Native American reservations have special laws that allow them to have casinos even in states where gambling is not allowed, are there any reservations that have special laws allowing brothels or even just single-person prostitution?

 

Is that an idea for a new business?

Not all casinos are on exclusive tribal lands. Its a complex series of laws that enables native americans to retain their rights and access to establish gaming facilities, even without having their own land. Of the five California casinos Ive patronized, only one is actually on tribal land. Two others are nearby their land, and two simply sit at the edge of suburban sprawl.

 

Consider that, at least in Northern CA, the casinos are bigger and more lavish. Most have management relationships with Nevada gaming . They often have the nicest lodging and dining in the region. The few legal brothels in Nevada are, to the best of my knowledge, not big, fancy places generating mega-money.

 

I dont understand all of the laws that permit the native american gaming exception.... but I dont think the same exception would be extended to prostitution. From a practical and cultural perspective, I dont think the tribes would anticipate much beyond exploiting their female youth. And local communities may be willing to have a casino in their area; American NIMBYs wont want a whorehouse in their community.
