At this late date I still

do not have any plans for

New years Eve.

I've considered

a nearby travel destination

however, I don't know yet exactly

where that might lead me.

I've never hired an escort on

New years Eve but am considering doing so.

I wonder if any work that night?

So what are your suggestions or

plans for New Years Eve?

I think New Year's Eve is for amateurs. I love to stay home, perhaps have a few friends in for a dinner, or just relax reading a good mystery. Believe it or not, it's a very peaceful night to spend by oneself.

A friend tells of a friend who watches "All About Eve" every New Year's Eve. I think that's a great idea and I may try it this year.

Then I can get laid on the 2nd, the 3rd, the 4th........

That is an interesting outlook.

I'm of the old school, I want to go have some fun.

Hanging around the house doesn't seem like

New Years to me whereas going to a concert

or maybe a nice dinner and seeing a comedian

at the Improv or another comedy club makes it

feel more complete.

but home is where I might end up :(

North to Montreal you must venture.

The land of Boyzz and Toyzz, with a mile of bars and male strip clubs Iam sure you wont be alone very long...

Just to be able to get away from work and everyday pressures is just plain heavan these days. This year I'm extremely grateful that I'm able to go on holiday and spend time with my family and friends in Europe. Just plain take it easy for a couple of days and have no worries what so ever.

This year we're heading down to Trafalgar Square in London to watch and be part of the celebrations on New Years Eve. There is never a dull moment with moments like these. They just come once a year and for someone like me I just try to enjoy it and have a good time while it lasts.

This is probably off the topic but the thread reminded me of one New Year's Eve when I was in my early 20s. Went to a gay bar called Jocabo's in Northern Kentucky across from Cincinnati. (You have to remember that back in those days there weren't that many gay bars.) Woke up the next morning with some guy trying to fuck me with a dick so short that he couldn't get past the cheeks. Finally got up and found out I was in bed with two guys and one girl and didn't know any of them. Went outside and walked several blocks before I found a taxi. Got home that morning just in time to shower and begin to prepare a brunch for about ten people. Was so hung over I couldn't look at the eggs as I cracked them.

New Year's Eve is much calmer now. I usually take a nap in the afternoon so I can stay up until Midnight, usually at a friend's place for dinner. Sounds dull but those old times just don't sound as attractive anymore.

The above posts make for interesting reading. Thanks guys for your slight poetics. As for me, I have yet to make specific, specific plans, but I do know for sure-- on that night I will be miles and miles away from home in the beautiful and sensual "Land of Smiles"-- Thailand.

On New Year's Eve, I will be in the beach town of Pattaya, also dubbed "sin city"-- not that I will be committing any, but I hope to wine and dine a "boy" or two and have a wonderful, scorching rendevous back at the guest house to help ring in 2006!! :9 :9 :+ :+ :9 :9

Shit, I think its been a few years since I actually did anything on New Years...when I was a kid my parents used to bang pots and pans with us outside at midnight. We had a lot of kids on our block and other kids did it to so no one got pissed...some firecrackers

Did the Times Square thing one year and about 6 of us got a suite at the Regis Hotel overlooking Central Park...we got so drunk in the room and then paid like $75 to get in to a bar where we could barely stand...good times

Sometimes Im asleep by midnight, and Im only 37 (though I say Im 35).

No joke, this is what I think Im gonna do this year :

Read Mother Teresa's Nobel Speech and some other spiritual reading. Ive already bought my Next years calendar and I will reflect on the past two years and look toward my future.

I hope that all of us here at least can make New Year's a time to be so grateful for what we have. Some here have a lot, some not much...but we are not hungry, nor in need of shelter...we are very fortunate.

On the beach in Copacabana, with a few million other souls, dressed all in white, drinking champagne, sending floating out into the sea, offering to the Gods of candles and flowers for a splendid happy and healthy future, viewing the most fantastic fireworks displays imaginalbe and then watching the sun come up.
