The Parthenon is a great attraction. Try Roitier's restaurant nearby for one of the places the locals hit that is overlooked by tourists. The Blue Bird Cafe is really a place to see new talent. The Pancake Pantry is another great eatery rooted in old Nashville. The Frist Center has great exhibits, and there are several plantations in the area, such as Andrew Jackson's Hermitage that are worth visiting. Try the Ryman Auditorium to see the Mother Church of Country Music, and the Country Music Hall of Fame is great.

 

I also like Zoo at Grassmere (another plantation), and Cheekwood Botanical Gardens and Art Museum.

Nashville hasn't really been strictly about country music for quite some time. With all of the recent business and population growth I'd expect to see more options for massage and escorting. While there has been a little bit of growth it's still not a very diverse market. I have seen more professionals traveling to the area.

 

A few of the (since retired) masseurs had told me that police were fairly aggressive with sting operations here for both male and female professionals. I don't know if that's still going on.

 

Housing prices are getting out of hand in Nashville. It's very difficult to find studio or one-bedroom apartment in the metro area if you're on a working class wage. There's also a hotel shortage. It can be difficult to find an affordable hotel any time there's a minor event or two in town.
