Kickstarter is a website that anyone can use. Is panhandling on the internet. You can ask others for money for your projects. Usually projects never see the light of the day because they run into problems, delays or they never deliver. There are several websites similar to Kickstarter, they have been used for frivolous things like guys asking for money to go out of debt, going on vacation, money to cook a meal to more serious things like fund movies, recordings, or scientific or tech projects.
