I'm pretty sure it's been discussed here already but wanted to start a thread about tipping. At what price point do you stop adding a tip? $120, $150, $180? And what about if it's a not-so-great massage but more on the interactivity?

The general rule of thumb for a private masssur is no extra tip - or something negligible, perhaps $20. Since the masseur is receiving the entire rate, the tip is included in the service.

For a spa masseur, guidance is a tip 50-100% of the base rate.

Thanks Gr8massage. This is a good guide. The men's spas are usually cheaper so I tend to tip more. Usually around 50% but depends on the extras. Private masseurs I generally tip if the base is around $100-$130. I have a hard time tipping over $150.
