Trans apps to micro SD card? How?

Spent $20 on sd card but it seems most apps will not trans to card. I need more space on my phone which has only 8 GBs. What to do?

I'm a smart phone newbie myself, but it seems to me that the solutions for iPhones might be quite different than for android devices. Which kind/model do you have?

 

Is most of the space on your phone taken up with apps instead of pictures/videos/tunes ?

It is a LG rebel 2 Tracfone. Most of space taken up by apps....I have very few pics/music on it. It seems that many of the apps won't transfer to SD cards so space is an on going problem.
