I have a suggestion. I think this forum should have a glossary, kind of its own Urban Dictionary, maybe in a pinned post.

 

I'm seeing a lot of threads about communication and miscommunication, a list of ambiguous terms with their definitions might help.

That might work if posters actually looked at the pinned threads.

 

Or we could act with more goodwill in the first place until someone establishes a reputation for not having goodwill or only selective goodwill.

I agree with QTR to a certain extent but see another difficulty with the idea. That is, if there were such a thread it would quickly cease to be a glossary and become a discussion thread about the various terms, so it would lose any value it had as a reference resource.

The idea is good. The execution could be doubleplusungood.
