And if you get the authentic stuff, it works. But the reason it works is that some component of it is a statin just like Lipitor. So I'm wondering whether some component of this Horny Goat Weed might be in the same family as the sildenafil (Viagra) or the other ED medications.

And if you get the authentic stuff, it works. But the reason it works is that some component of it is a statin just like Lipitor. So I'm wondering whether some component of this Horny Goat Weed might be in the same family as the sildenafil (Viagra) or the other ED medications.

My quoted website explains it this way too but calls the substance epimedium. So you wouldn't want to combine this drug with one of the prescription ED drugs, and the same precautions regarding other medications would apply.

 

Also unfortunately these supplements aren't regulated. Studies have shown that you never know exactly what you are getting. The active ingredient could be exactly what the label says or could be anywhere from 0 to 100's of percent more than what the label lists.

 

You can thank Sen Orrin Hatch from Utah (probably among others) for being a staunch opponent of having the FDA being able to police the Supplement Industry.
