Swiss hotel sparks outrage with signs about 'Jewish guests'

A Swiss hotel has sparked outrage after posting signs addressed to “Jewish guests”, warning them to shower before going swimming and that they can only use the refrigerator at certain times.

“To our Jewish guests, women, men and children, please take a shower before you go swimming and…after swimming,” read the sign at the Aparthaus Paradies in Arosa, an Alpine resort village in east Switzerland.

“If you break the rules I’m forced to close the swimming pool for you.”

A second sign, also addressed to “our Jewish guests”, warned that they could only access the refrigerator at certain times of the day. “I hope you understand that our team does not like being disturbed all the time,” it read

Wait until Rabbi Hy see this one!

and others too... I'm sure one of them will just criticize all Swiss people just like he took it on the Japanese when they said something mean about his dear leader and all of the sudden they were losers and a "has been" country.

I can't find the link.

There is a whole lot more to this story. I think their mistake was not to include all guests in their admonitions.

This is a popular hotel with "ultra-orthodox Jews", e.g. hassadim. The refrigerator quip is that they allow the staff refrigerator to be used by guests, but (apparently) the guests are abusing the privilege on Shabos.

Why they didn't just say ALL GUESTS?

Hmmm, I never knew other ethnicities were "dirt free" ??? I truly believe we are missing a big piece of this story and the posting of the sign alone is taken out of its original context. I will look into this, but being jewish myself, I'm just gonna go jump in the shower first !

Perhaps you should ask the OP, Marylander then ? It's always wise to go to the source rather than to remain Clueless ! o_O

80% of my posts are pictures in the gallery... sometimes I feel like posting about racism, rape and other subjects too.

It is interesting how a little thought and tact solves problems. This being an excellent case in point.

Something we do, however, go to the ridiculous. The CDC in Atlanta states that swim diapers are NOT useful in preventing contamination of the water is swimming pools. Here is California we CANNOT post a pool rule stating the children must be potty trained We must state that all people using the pool must have full bowel and full bladder control. Additionally, if we see a parent with an infant in the pool and we ask if the infant has full bowel and full bladder control and the parent says YES then we MUST take the parents word. We have been forced to drain out pool and acid bath it several times because of the presences feces.

I am far from clueless. Maryland and I know each other from posting photos in the Gallery, so a PM to him was an easy solution.

Then why write that comment at all ? Just to score another post and stay visible ? Makes no sense.
