As you probably have heard by now, it was passed in our Canadian parliament tonight, the legalization of same-sex marriage. It still has to be approved by the Senate but that is expected to be a "rubber stamp"

 

I was proud of what our Prime Minister said about the vote. He put it very clearly when he stated,

 

"We are a nation of minorities, and in a nation of minorities it is important that you don't cherry-pick rights. A right is a right, and this is what this vote is about"

 

I bet GWB is one pissed off right winger tonight.

Lucky: Yes I realise that it had been reported in another posting, but I didn't want to tag my comments onto a thread that had started in Sept of '03.

 

I though the quote from our PM was worthy of a seperate posting. I think we would all be better off if more politicians took his words to heart.

 

And as for Cruise (talk about cross-posting) - I'm sure his dick is less than average - bags under his eyes? - well I guess he only looks good when he has half of Hollywood on hand to slap the guck on his face.

 

But the part of him that has always appealed to me is his face (especially his Roman nose in profile) His ass is close to perfect as seen in Top Gun and I admit that I find his voice sexy.

 

Unfortunately the words that he utters these days are decidely NOT sexy.

 

And as to his being Canadian - no he isn't.

God bess them - you have to love the Canadians.

 

Polite, smart, great beer, super sexy guys,

they give visa/work permits to strippers,

and now gay marriage.

 

While our neighbors to the north step forward

into the 21st century, our "fearless leader" tries

to goosestep us back to the 15th century.

Not just the Canadians. Yesterday the Spanish chamber of deputies gave final approval to the same-sex marriage law, so actually it appears that Spain is now the third country to have same-sex marriage and, once the Canadian Senate acts, Canada will be number four.
