In Uruguay’s marijuana experiment, the government is your pot dealer

This is an interesting alternative for pot legalization. Of course, in a culture like America's, where government causes allergic reactions, this kind of planning is unthinkable.

Considering the liability issues, potential for corruption and that marijuana is not without health risks, keeping the government out of it is a good idea.

In what way do you think marijuana is a good that is impervious to market forces? The possibility of adulteration is the only one I can think of, but that can be dealt with through regulation and registration. It doesn't require a government monopoly over supply.

Did you read the article? The monopoly over supply is only part of the regulation, it is a much more comprehensive program regulating also consumption and advertising.

Anyway, I am not saying it is da solution, but an alternative to deal with the issue that is unthinkable here in the States.
