I've seen several posts recently, that more and more guys are using Grindr to hire or advertise for generous. Makes me curious.....

Before starting a new thread, I always search older posts to avoid redundancy. And I found this post, which appears to have devolved into a shit-storm.

https://m4m-forum.org/threads/generous-red-flag.124560/

I saw one guy says he searches craigs and Grindr for "generou$" I just tried that on craigs, and every hit was a potential client looking to buy dick. Only one "seller."

I had a Grindr acct, using my current avatar. Not one guy initiated contact, and 95% of guys didnt respond to my opening contact efforts. 3-weeks, I closed the account. But thinking about re-opening it, adding a generous-reference.

I know its a violation of app TOS. And I know there are self-righteous prigs who report any violation when the world doesnt fit into neat little boxes. Nonetheless.....

So, with some trepidation, I'll ask.... has anyone had success using Grindr (or a clone-app) to hire or sell, perhaps using the word "generous", or some other creative strategy?

The only luck I've had using Grindr or Scruff for hiring purposes was overseas. Particularly Brazil, Mexico and Thailand. But it seemed pretty rampant in those parts. Here in the US, I tend to approach the "gen" dating app profiles with caution

Plenty of guys bragging about getting cheaper guys that way... let's see if they pop up on this thread too but I get the feeling they're all on the S.A. thread that somehow is at The Deli.

I tried Grindr.

My profile got rejected... maybe because I had word "generosity" in a list of descriptors?

Wasnt worth the hassle to follow up....

I know, I've read it.

Many other folks on here did the same and bragged about their success... let's see if they tell you how to do it and one more time brag about their paid hookups with amateur guys.

'Generous' and its derivatives will result in automated rejection now. I'm currently using the diamond emoji to indicate that I'm advertising.

The prigs will get you every time. I know one guy who has limited success. Having "generous" or $ in your profile will get rejected every time. I believe he has a phrase along the lines of, "I enjoy sharing the finer things in life with my friends." He still does all of the initiating. He gets ignored a lot and also a lot of "go away old man" before being blocked. He has also been reported by the objects of his pursuit once he mentions being generous, so he has had more than one account suspended. So, it requires a thick-skin and perseverance. Not worth it in my book, but I don't see the harm in others trying.

Just don't let @marylander1940 get wind of your profile. He enjoys reporting people who aren't using a platform the way he has determined it should be used.

He gets plenty of wind on his own, you're the one trying to get wind of mine, LOL

I enjoy a lot of things... there are other things that I do but without enjoyment like when asked for money report the guys. I guess for some of yinz I'm Hitler.

I had long pack attack on here about that subject, maybe that's why you feel safe to hit me on that one... I'm glad I'm helping you and making your day.

I own Grindr, damn I didn't know I have the right to determine how it should be used but thank you!

I did not use "generous" when I tried the experiment in Adam. I talked about "looking for young boys to spoil"

it must be annoying for some going on a hookup site and ending up paying for sex.

I'm sure you'll do well on it.

Have you tried joining the Seeking Arrangement site and searching for a sugar daddy. If I was on your shoes I'd rather be free and make more $ (no diamond emoji on my laptop)

Ive been trying generous euphemisms on craigs.... but I guess craigslist code emits some kind of secret hormone that makes guy demonstrate interest, waste time, then disappear.

Its in my A4A profile too... but thats getting very little response.

Adam4adam won't bother with solicitation but they do go after guys who have free (unpaid) profiles and advertise. They make good bucks with escorts/masseurs and they require them to pay for their profiles/ads.

Have you tried BP?

No. It's because of your scornful posts in this thread. Feeling "safe" is a stupid concept. There is nothing about this board that makes me fearful.

Feeling justified to be snarky with someone who is being scornful of others probably hits closer to the mark.

I doubt many have somehow been sucked into paying on 'hookup' apps. Though of course Grindr would tell you it's a dating app.

I use SA too. I'm multi-platform. :)

.

You never hit first, you always wait till it's safe to do it... be honest!

Please stop projecting on others.

We'd better hire you before a billionaire grabs you away from all of us and refuses to share you! ;)

  1. It's telling that you think of it as "hitting." It's just a message board for Christ's sake. You take it way too seriously.
  2. You're getting forgetful old-timer. In the "pack attack" thread that you mentioned above, I was the very first one to challenge you on the fact that you were reporting some poor working boy.
  3. And if being the first to say something is so important to you. Let me be the first to say how childish it is that you added an insult to a member you are ignoring to your signature. It's a childish way to try to taunt someone that you are supposed to be ignoring.

You keep projecting... you're the one taking this message board too seriously.

Old-timer yes, but I'm in better shape than you that's for sure.

You were the one who open fired on me on that thread? Good for you, I guess you're looking for another medal on here. I'm glad to be helpful!

I never had a signature before, I also never ignored someone but after he insulted me in a homophobic way I clicked the ignore button for the first time and I decided to move on.

Don't worry, I won't ignore you.

Please non of yinz would ever say things like this in person, let alone be that physical.

I realise I'm continuing the derailment of the thread, but this is a good point. Before I respond to people online I consider whether or not I would say the same thing in person. If not, I hit delete.
