Troubles setting my avatar

I'm trying to change my avatar, but it isn't working. I select the pic already on my phone, which is a JPG about 950x1250. Once I select from my folder, the little 'working' graphic in the corner goes for just a second or two, then the screen changes saying "No file selected" again. The pic never loads so I can click 'Okay' :-(

 

This is on my Android phone, using Chrome.

Ok, had to use a computer (not phone) to figure it out. Turns out it does NOT like pictures bigger than 50K ... but the phone is unable to present the appropriate error message. By shrinking the file size down, I was able to upload my pic for my avatar.
