I am still relatively new to this forum, but I have noticed a lot of, what appear to be or what are determined to be, fake ads & pics by escorts. I am sure this has been going on forever, but is it me or is it getting worse lately?

I've been dabbling in the escort/massage world for at least 10 years and with the exception of some strange Craigslist experiences, I have never come across a fake. Have I been lucky or are times changing?

**when I say "fake" I am referring to the use of someone else's pictures

I do not feel like it is worse than before. There is an increase on the number of guys offering their services, and therefore also in the number of fakers, but I cannot tell whether the ratio has changed.

Fake pictures is a very important problem, but not a deal breaker for me. Often the guys do not use their pics for many reasons, and dishonesty or the will to mislead you is not always the main one.

Agree. There are many reasons to not use your own pics especially face pics. But don't you think they should disclose it once an appointment is made?

I am on the fence with this one. I respect the need for privacy but I also feel as though it's a bait and switch.

I guess you know I am advocating for the use of videoconferencing tools to verify pictures. I do not care whether or not the pictures are real if the guy in the FaceTime screen is hot and the vibe is good. Before the expansion of videoconferencing, I would never give my address (I prefer hosting) to a first time hire. I would meet him in a corner close to my place. Many times I walk away, but more often I would hire the guy even when he was not the one in the pictures.

This would never have occurred to me. I must say I have been lucky (or smart) and never hire anyone who hasn't been discussed here.

Can you share the typical reactions you receive when asking for a FaceTime with an escort? I'm curious, as I am getting more tempted to try this especially when an escorts ad only has a few reviews and minimal pics, but everything else seems ok.

Mixed response

I dont think RM or M4RN, or the massage sites, are any more or less fake than historically.

With the demise of craigslist for hire ads, it feels like the CL "types" disbursed. The legit guys migrated to RM, etc. Some casual part-timers, not willing to pay for ads, stopped promoting. And the fakers, cheats etc went to BackPage.

If I perused BP only, I'd think "wow, what happened? 90% of escorts and masseurs are fake!"
