Foxy, you are a dear friend, and I would never challenge you... however, I must confess that I've never found ANY value in Peeps whatsoever. Not even Camp value!! They're just plain horrid!

Even as a child, I would neglect them, waiting until they were the very last sweets I pulled from la Easter Basket.

I even chose chocolate-coated marzipan eggs over those yellow monstrosities, stale and glued together with strands of artificial grass. True, I ate them at that point, but only because I was a patriotic child, and felt then that it was my duty to go ballistic on sugar as a salutation to Spring.

But what is it that gives them that awful taste, even if they're not stale?

I can only surmise that the dyes used in the sugar coating are a by-product of nuclear waste. Patiotic, yes. But anything to wax fondly over? Blech!
