I approve all requests on my profile. Now if they are texting me for pictures NOT on my profile, that's entirely different. If they are wary of my identity and ask for a specific selfie, I'll do it if we are closing a deal so to speak on an appointment. (I'd do the same if I were a client setting up a trip or overnight)
