A client recently told me an interesting quote....don't remember who he was quoting...but here is what he said:

"Fish, in english, can be spelt "Ghoci".

From the sounds made in the words: enouGH (ee-nuF), wOmen (wI-men), and deliCIous (dee-li-SHus)."

Silly, huh?

I am a bit off in the head right now from strep throat, ;( so I was lucky to remember what I did and fill in the blanks of what I forgot...hehehehehe.

Dear Athan,

So sorry to hear about your throat. Be careful and get well!

While not in the line of pronunciation, I am sure you've heard this one many times, but it does fit into the heading: English is silly:

Why do we drive on a parkway

and park in a driveway?

English is a very difficult language to learn because of all the exceptions to the rules.

Just remember ....

I before E, except in Budweiser. :+
