Hey guys, help me out here. I'm looking for a cheaper software program that tracks customers. I need a software that will of course allow me to store name, address, etc.. however I really need to be able to make notes under each customers name kind of like a conversation log. Any ideas out there? I saw one called Anytime Organizer 9.0 anyone have any experience with it? Can I make notes under each contacts name?

Thanks

I've used ACT and found it to be very powerful. In fact, it had more options than I could figure out. Don't know about cost but I suspect it's very affordable. Been around for a long time and used by some major companies.

Here's a link to their website.

I was able to take notes for each contact to document phone conversations, e-mail, appointments, etc. I believe it is also compatible with many PDAs.

OneFinger is correct: Act! is a package you should consider, based on the information you have provided. Another one to look at would be Goldmine. Both packages -- as well as many similar pieces of software -- started out as sales tools and kept adding features.

Without more information about exactly what it is you need, it's hard to make further recommendations.

By the way, the cost of Act! varies a lot based on your environment. If you purchase it, make sure you get the right version.

I agree that ACT is a very good program, has been around for a LONG time and is dependable.

However, like someone mentioned here, you really should scope out ALL of the features you need before making a choice. For example, in addition to your basic requirements, would you want to generate invoices? Post receivables? Schedule followups via mail or e-mail?

For that matter, do you need single access or multiple access? Would a website interface maybe be better for you, so that you can access it anyway there's an internet connection?

I think you get the point. Even if you think your requirements are plain and simple right now, think about the future.

Don't plunk down money until you're satisfied.

Good Luck,

Thanks for the responses. For now all I think I need is the ability to track customer names, numbers and notes on what we discussed. I work in sales. For the furture I may consider getting a PDA to be more mobile. I work out of a home office with access to a PC all the time. BTW Only need one user. Thanks
