Scam Aimed at Rentmen Advertisers

I've been contacted by two different guys in different states in the last few days asking me about messages they received from potential clients.

 

The messages proposed a weekend meeting for a large fee and asked the companion for his name, address and home phone number to which a check for travel expenses would be mailed.

 

This is obviously a scam and I passed that along but it appears that someone is scraping Rentmen info and looking for gullible guys.

 

I suspect all the escorts who are on the Forum would spot this a mile away but it might be worth passing along to new guys who may not participate.

I knew a young (early 20s) escort who had his bank account emptied and credit ruined when he gave out his bank info to a scammer. I don't remember the details but it was probably some version of the Nigerian "Prince" scam. Anybody can be scammed but sometimes the young and the old are the most vulnerable.
