Las Vegas always sees a huge weekend population increase as reflected in increased hotel prices. Holiday weekends deserve special attention but expect even higher room prices. Don’t forget to include the nasty “Resort Fees” into your estimate of hotel expenses. Insidious parking fees are expanding their reach to more casino properties on the Strip.

Recent news stories talk about the very good 2016 Las Vegas just had.

Increasing visitation. New record set with 42.9M visitors. 43.2M estimated for 2017.

80pct increase in international visitors in the past 5 years.

New direct international flights to begin this year from Mexico City, Oslo, Seoul, Munich and Beijing.

80pct+ hotel occupancy rate even as the number of rooms have increased from 75K > 150K. US average is 65pct.

- Avg Daily Room Rate (Downtown) $66

 

Chinese New Year is 28 January. Extensive recognition is being planned.
