I never really understand the use of the phrase "political correctness" - what does it actually mean when used in such a sense? To me, it describes a stance in which people take seriously the implications of their words and actions on others. Hard to imagine such a thing "gone awry".

 

By the way - as the originator of this thread, I must say that it has taken quite an unexpected turn. All I planned on discovering was whether or not anyone actually had hired the gentleman-in-question and what their experience had been. I have not learned much in that direction, but I have learned so much much more! Thanks....
