I think the real story has to do with the killer, "and his mentor", the guy who was his sugar daddy ! The guy has a long rap sheet and the killing is just another notch on his belt.

I've MET this guy, (the older Sugar Dad), BEEN to his apt, in 06-7 I briefly dated a guy who worked with him. I STILL can't decipher the deets it's very confusing. Here is a more detailed article but equally confusing. (the boy is OBVS a str8 G4P ex con, and if he killed a gay man coming on to HIM it would tots FIT that profile of rage and self hate that many str8 boytoys like him have, but THIS says it's the other way round. Who knows??

Oh, there's lots & lots of stuff roiling around under the surface on this one. The NYTimes continues to show remarkable daintiness in the reportage--this morning's brief update being particularly restrained--but the London tabloids are having at it with their typically no-holds-barred approach. (When you Google, don't neglect the Daily Mail, for instance.) A multi-faceted tragedy all around - but Bo Dietl (popping up as 'spokesman' for Jeffrey Rackover) comes close to being hilarious in his pious, faux-naif commentary on the relationship between the celeb jeweler and his young protege. As much as I love Bo (and I always have, perversely enough), I'd never have imagined him to be so unashamedly gay-friendly. (There's a parallel to Rudy Giuliani's personal life, I guess - but I ain't going there.)

I'm not so sure about the "STR8 G4P" label. I'm thinking "closeted in denial." The first story mentioned he victim was killed after he rejected sexual advances by one or both of the alleged killers. Now one of them says there was a fight over cigarettes. "STR8 G4P" guys don't usually come on to straight guys, do they?
