No matter how well you play poker if people are going to play poorly the odds can be worthless. Even bad players can get lucky and tonight I was a victim of not one but two bad players. I feel as if I was raped or something else that would not be fun.

I am in the big blind no raise before the flop (Texas Hold-em) so I'm already in the hand with a horrific 3d6h. The flop comes 4s5s7c I have flopped a straight. I bet $100 no slow playing as there are two spades on the board plus a potential larger straight.

The player after me raises $200. Several limpers drop out then an older woman who is short stack goes all in for about $300.

Now the action is back to me, I can fold, call the $200. raise or re-raise. I read my players I know the woamn is on a flush draw but I'm way ahead if she is. But I'm not certain about the raiser. He could have a over pair that he slowed played in early position or maybe he flopped a set ... I go over in my mind his play throught the day and feel at best he has two pair.

Feeling confident that I have read each player correctly I push all my checks in. I have about $1,200. But the rasier slightly covers me, he has about $1,600 left in front of him.

With the older woman all in the rasier needs to decide if he wants to risk all of his money on the hand he is holding, well nearly all of it. He thinks about it for nearly 5 minutes, I want him to fold. I can beat one but maybe not two players.

FUCK! He calls me. So now there is approx. $3,100 in the pot. Of that about $1,800. is strange money, meaning this is my potential profit if my hand wins.

This is a ring game not tournament style where players have to turn up their cards. But he raiser turns his up 7-5 cool I called it right, he flopped top two pair, but the older lady doesn't want to turn her cards over. I show the raiser what I have and he kind of concedes to me, "good hand man."

Here comes the turn, it is a fucking 7s!!! This gives the rasier a full house, there is no way I can win the hand now. I have just lost about $1,400. total.

The raiser is much happier now but the river card is a 8s. The older woman turns over a straight flush. The raiser gets the side pot which was huge since the woman was in for only $900. due to her small stack.

I had the best hand post flop and came in third place. Reminds me of the Tom Petty song, "even the losers get lucky some time." :( :( :(
