From my experience living in NYC, I find that many personal trainers are available as 'DL' escorts. The trainers at Equinox in particular.

So yes, it has happened to me.

"Ironic" that the dues Equinox charges are of course apparently not trickling down to their trainers' wallets. More fun for some of us though!

But the opposite DID happen frequently - escorts deleting their ads and become exclusive to yours truly.

Frequently? I think that's called "leasing."

You are right. Equinox charges their members top dollars, but that doesn't trickle down to the personal trainers and other staff - they really need to scramble.

Thanks for responding.

In your experience, does the marketing and perceived (or at least my perception of the) desired, monied clientele of that chain translate into more Beautiful People on the training staff? (I had a few conversations with a super handsome young man who used to work the front desk at one of my gyms about the "casting politics" of which "FOA" staffers got front desk duty.)

Tier 4 (now called tier x) trainers make $65 to $75 an hour at least in NYC.

The client gets billed at least 2x that. And there are very, very few Tier 3 and 4 trainers. It takes years to get to that level. So most trainers are scrambling to make a living.

You are absolutely right, I think. At Equinox, personal trainers are hired based on their sex appeal - both to male and female clients.

As it should be. Trainers are about motivation, and there is nothing that will motivate you to get to the gym more than knowing a hot guy is waiting there to correct your form. :)
