California Residents: If you bought certain Microsoft software between 2/18/95 and 12/15/01, or bought from someone else software that was purchased during these times (which is what I did), you can get a voucher refund good against certain hardware and software purchases.

Or, you can donate your voucher to a non-profit organization, which is what I did. The link below will get you.to the forms that must be mailed to the address on the LETTER OF AGENCY. Print the LETTER OF AGENCY and the BLANK CLAIM FORM (required Acrobat).

When I signed up for my voucher in December, they said I could write in the name of any California non-profit, with the city of the non-profit. I chose to donate to a summer camp for kids with gay parents, Camp Lavender Hill (Guerneville/Santa Rosa, CA): http://www.CampLavenderHill.com.

Another good place might be St. James Infirmary, a non-profit that provides health care and services for sex workers based in SF (http://www.StJamesInfirmary.org). There are other non-profits listed on the CURRENT MEMBERS page.

Claims must be postmarked by January 8, 2005, so you should probably get it into the mail to the donation people by Tuesday so they can forward it on by Saturday. Print it tomorrow in the office, fill it out and send it on its way!

I won my microsoft software for free as a door prize for an event that I went to. I guess that means that I don't qualify. It would had been cool to give my voucher to a charity. :(
