I've noticed certain female actresses (can you use that phrase anymore?) mouths seem to widen over time. I've seen a few men too. Part of it maybe the teeth veneers. While I like white teeth as much as the next guy, sometimes, esp in older people, they seem too white to be real to me.

I thnk they've all had cheek implants. Also wouldn't facelifts which pull the skin back tend to widen the mouth?

But seriously, two of those women are in their 80s, of COURSE they've had work done.

did anyone watch Fashion Police's Emmy Fashion Red Carpet special last night on E? Not only did Melissa Rivers inherit her mother's estate but she also inherited her botox injection and cheek fillers. There were some points where her face was hardly moving when she was speaking.

Melissa Rivers is the Queen of the I -have -no-talent-but-my -parent- was-famous set of Show Biz Kidz that haunts second rate TV networks. Meanwhile, talented people can't get work.

My mother is in her 80's and hasn't had work done. Well unless you include the partial palate removal and zygomatic arch removal due to cancer. Luckily you can't really tell from the outside.

I saw a certain amount of black humor in this posting. I don't want to "Like" it because I'm sorry that Gar1eth's mother had to endure that kind of surgery. I'm glad that you can't really tell from the outside, and that the lady is still alive.

Thank you, @honcho. My mother was beautiful before the operation and remains so now.

An agressive rhytidectomy, or multiple lifts, will cause a person's mouth to appear wider. One can see for oneself while staring in a mirror, pulling back sagging cheek skin, trying to decide if it's time to see the wizard on Park and 73rd. Mary Tyler Moore has an overbite, and that may lend to the mouth to look even wider post-procedure.
