Jawjatecks advice is excellent. I am obviously one of the frequent posters here and a member of “the clique”. I generally "try" to be measured and fair in my responses. I did, however, go ballistic on one issue last year.

 

Maybe the fact that I was a high school teacher for over thirty years forced me to grow a thick skin. One cannot work with teenagers for that many years and be sensitive. Over the years I have been fortunate to meet and become friend with a number of frequent posters and fellow “clique members” here. I have also come to know and appreciate other frequent posters and fellow “clique member” who I have not been fortunate enough to meet. Now for my key question: Why should I give a flying fuck what some anonymous poster on this site who I do not know and who does not know me thinks of me? If, for example, poster XYZ posts that I am a STUPID, ASSHOLE, FUCKING FAGGOT so what? Why should I waste my time caring about his/her opinion? I let it go and move on and I, not so humbly, recommend that other here do the same.

Your critics have every right to gripe about your relatively high rate and your adjustments--just like consumers have a right to complain about Uber's "surge pricing" and the sometimes unpredictable occasions for the surges. You have every right to shrug it off and charge what you choose.

 

But consider some different angles on the back and forth you are experiencing on this Forum.

 

To state the obvious: In a market system, price is a function of supply and demand. If you charge $1000 an hour, you will get many fewer customers, but each customer will give you a bigger financial bang. That you have a day job might mean that you don't have a lot of extra time for escorting. If so, it would be rational for you to charge a higher figure and have fewer clients.

 

If you charge $300 an hour (still a pretty penny), you will have more clients, but you will spend more time escorting rather than working your day job and socializing with your friends/family. Overall, you probably would make more $$$ at $300, but you would spend a lot more time earning it.

 

So do the math: What fits your competing needs for free time and for extra cash?

 

And I bet you have already learned that your natural beauty commands very few clients at $1000 an hour, and maybe not enough at $500 or $400 an hour. But you don't know that until you experiment a bit, exactly as you have been doing. In market terms, you will find a price that best mixes your desire for extra cash with your desire for time dedicated to other activities. Also, if you really enjoy overnights, you should price them more competitively, as you have been doing.

 

To continue with a final point that is even more obvious, the price customers are willing to pay is a function of your "reputation." Are you "known" from reliable sources as a good escort?

 

Hence, it was a mistake to start at $1000, if your reputation took some hits. As you price more sensibly, you need to pay attention to your reputation, which will be fueled by the Internet: Do Internet reviewers or commenters consider you a good escort? As a great one? As a flake? The Rentmen reviews are not as valuable in reputation terms as your reviews on Daddys--and reviews by frequent reviewers count a lot more than reviews by first-timers (many of whom are escorts or their buddies tooting their own horns).

Great point There have been plenty of studies that show how attractiveness (age, features, symmetry, race) and youth result in better treatment, more money, and easier handling by our criminal justice system. Ageism and lookism are deeply embedded prejudices in humanity. It's almost a near certainly that people would not have reacted the same way to Taylor if he'd been significantly older or out of shape.

 

But, let's be brutal for a moment, escorting is a personal service built on these very human issues. Some people are into huge BBC. Some want older muscle daddys. Some want the hot young twink. Etc. etc. etc. I applaud you for raising the issue, but to what end? If we're even remotely self-aware and honest, we know we treat people we find attractive better than those we don't. My wife laughs every time a good looking woman or man waits on us when we eat out because she knows I will almost always tip better than I would otherwise. Yes, I'm a lookist pig, but men are visual animals, so while I'm aware of it, I don't always tackle it. Obviously, in a work environment, I am very aware of my issues and do my best to mitigate them.
