Mockery-what do you get out of it?

I don't often post on the forums, but I read them often. I find the site useful, informative, and sometimes just a nice distraction. I feel like it's a great group of like-minded people offering advice, expertise, or sometimes just a word of encouragement when it's needed.

 

Which leads me to my question: what do some posters get out of mockery? I figured, looking through the different topics, that people ask about experiences, give a heads up about somebody shady-useful information. But what about the posts that link to an ad for an escort, with no other purpose then to mock them; I'm seriously curious what one gets out of that?

 

I get it-this is the internet, and I'm not some naive delicate flower-I know reading the comment section online, one must have a thick skin. But everybody on here has their personal preferences, their personal tastes. Gay men (and I know not everybody on here classifies as such, but I think it's safe to say it's the majority) have been harassed, teased, and bullied-and yet we turn around and do the same to our own. We fight for equal rights, and tell others to live and let live, and then post an ad and comment how we'd never pay for that, good luck with that, etc-why can't we also live and let live, without the snark.

 

I promise I'm not trying to preach with this, I'm honestly curious-what do you get out of mocking others just doing their thing?

To answer your question simply, I believe it's called "making conversation"... This is a social website geared towards "escorts" so what better topic to discuss ? And since we ALL have an opinion about everything, escorts are NOT excluded. It's not being cruel, or catty, it's merely stating an opinion, and oft times those opinions may not be positive, as it is with all things in life. "You take the good, you take the bad, and there you have The Facts of Life ! "

Well if this site was for discussions about appliances, I would include a link to Sears Roebuck. but since this site is for discussion about escorts, I would think links to their ads is appropriate to facilitate that discussion, whether its Good, Bad or ugly.... You just said it right there. It is the Internet. If you ever read any comments about any article that tells people don't do this, or don't do that...do this, instead of doing that...there's going to be someone on there making fun of someone or blaming Obama. Here is just the same thing, but the escort is the target hit.

 

As for the escort in question in that other thread, it seems the audience here mostly goes for hunky, hung guys with bubble butts who also bottom. The person in question was a twinky twink that almost appeared female in ways. It would have probably been favored by guys who are into transsexuals. Not here. That'd be like posting a pic of a huge, musculine, overly muscular chick on a female escort review site. But that huge overly muscular chick probably makes a lot of money punishing repressed straight men. One can only expect the crowd will go for what it likes. Clearly that person is not on the forum, so he/she probably determined this isn't the proper platform to be on for people looking for his type.
