Dell Inc. is recalling about 2.9 million AC adapters nationwide- 4.4 million worldwide- used with notebook personal computers because they can overheat and cause a fire and electrical shock hazard, the company and the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Friday.

DAMN! This is MINDBOGGLING news!!! Especially, since every lap top comes with a written warning of this VERY phenonomen! DUH!!! ;(

Thanks One Finger for the information. I just bought a Dell laptop a couple of months ago. I sit with it on my lap every morning and if it blows up I am really in trouble. There would be no use checking out this site anymore. Thanks again for the very useful information.
