Okay, thanks, but again - does it really mean anything?

Does it mean that what you see is what you get?

Just wondering.

Just wondering. What part of "verified photo" and / or "verified ID" are you not getting? I'm sure it is not foolproof, but the combination of the two should be pretty high confidence that what you see is what you get -- at least appearance-wise.

Okie-dokie. Still can't say I'm so sure.

Thanks though. Sorry to cause you to chide my post.

No offense taken. Rentmen and some of the advertisers are taking extra steps to try to limit the frauds, so it confuses me that people aren't taking it for what it is worth. Just one more data point. Better than nothing at all.

I don't think there's anything like a bottom, versatile or top card but I'm might be wrong. When it comes to escorting it's nice to know the the guy advertising says he's 18 because he's actually 18 and not 17 or 25, or he says he's 30 because that's his biological age and not 40... and some folks think he looks 30 and that's why he says in his ad he's 30.

That's a lot but that's no guarantee of a good time or that he'll do (kiss, rim, blow, fuck/get fucked) as advertised.

Exactly!

I'm glad that RM is starting to address this issue, although only a very small percentage of the guys use fake pics. But it is a step in the right direction, hopefully more guys will use this service to verify their pics.

While it is true that extra steps are taken to try to limit the frauds, I remain skeptical about many ads, even ads with supposed "verification" of photos or identification.

I consider myself a fairly lucky person. On the other hand, when it comes to answering escort ads, I have often been unlucky.

My fraud and/or misrepresentation rate is more than 50%.

Either the guy in the photo of the ad is not the person who shows up, or, the photos in the ad are at least ten years younger than the person who appears for the appointment.

With respect to submitting identification to rentmen, what is to prevent a fraudster from using a good quality copy of a real passport or driver license then placing a fake photo over the real photo and changing the name and stats of the real identification? Then, the altered document could be copied and sent to rentmen.

There are excellent high quality photo copiers that could accomplish this with little effort.

I'm fairly sure Sean Lawrence in NYC is some kind of fake. I've mentioned this before. I don't want go into it fully as I've mentioned it in several threads, but it's because the initial pictures he advertised with look nothing like his current set. I noticed that his RM profile said 'ID Verified'. I sent in a query to RM. If I understood what Rick from RM told me, he explained that 'ID Verified' was regarding names. It didn't have anything to do with photos. I think he said they did have a 'Photo Verification' also. But I haven't seen an ad with that label yet.

Yeah I don't know how strict they are with that rule. Faker was using fake pictures, in my sleuthing I had managed to find the real picture person twitter account. I sent him a message, he laughed about it but in an OMG WTF way. Rentmen kept saying they have obtained reasonable proof the escort ad person was real, despite the fact that the real picture person was sending them messages to remove the ad. So its meh. I don't really trust rentmens verification process.. that's why I have all of you lovely people :D

Just checking: This was on an ad that specified photos were verified, as opposed to one that didn't? I remember Steven Kesslar getting that response from Rentmen on complaints about fake/stolen photos before the verification system was put in place.

Hmmm honestly I don't remember, I mostly remember the emails and the frustration over them. Im going to say, because it feels right, that they said they received reasonable prof of id. don't know about the pictures... somehow I don't think rentmen really checks up on the pictures. Had one person using pictures of sean lowe and took forever for them to do anything.

This is definitely one of the upsides of engaging someone who does porn or adult performances. You have outside sources to know exactly what they look like and how they can perform. I know that some clients eschew adult performers, but I have never had an unpleasant surprise when they show up. They haven't all been excellent, but all of my best engagements happen to have been with adult performers. :)

Please tell me how choosing an escort from porn or adult sites provides assurance that the escort is real.

Countless ads contain stolen photos of well-known escorts who are also in the porn industry. It is not until the bogus advertiser shows up do you know you are scammed.

In the case of well-known escorts sometimes they are made aware of a bogus ads but many times they never know of the bogus ad.

When a real escort learns that his photos are being used for a bogus ad, the ad gets removed.

One escort, who posted to this thread, had his photos stolen not long ago for a bogus ad. If the real escort had not been made aware of the fake ad and had it removed, the person who placed the ad could easily have made an appointment with an unsuspecting client.

There are lots of genuine ads but there are also many bogus ads.

You missed my point almost completely. I'm assuming that anyone hiring has enough sense to A) Be suspicious of anyone using pictures of an adult performer and a different stage name, or B) Ask questions when an adult performer first starts running an escort ad. Questions to verify that he actually has gotten into the business and is running an ad.

My point was that you know what they look like from other sources and not just the ad. It's very easy to determine if they are using old pictures, etc.

It just isn't that hard to verify if an adult performer has started escorting, so if people are jumping on fake ads without doing some due diligence, they need to own that foolishness. I would be overjoyed if I saw an ad running for Diego Sans, but I sure as hell wouldn't make an appointment until I had asked around.

Several escorts already sent copies of their ID and face pictures holding a sign. It's not like sending your social security number, besides RM already has the escorts names and address because they pay using a CC or Debit card.

I went back to his place for an early nooner, he looks, kisses and gives head better than ever before.

Dario is a must have in you're in the DC area.
