He is a saint and I agree TR he is kinda cute. I'm pretty active in the pet rescue community here (yes it's thing) I don't know why I have never met him.

What an awesome human! Pets with special needs are really hard to adopt out and it is even harder if they're a senior and special needs. Mr. Orleans (RIP) and the newest addition Spanish Gentleman were/are special needs. Mr. Orleans had thyroid issues and Spanish Gentleman is fiv (similar to hiv) positive. Despite the bad hand Spanish Gentleman was dealt he is a good boy and he gets lots of treats and loves, even when he is trying to be Mr. tough guy.

He has learned how to open the bathroom door. He listens for me to turn the shower off and promptly opens the door and asks for his treats which I give a handful. Now if I can teach him tricks like shake and sit.

I had a friend some year's back who lived in a tiny NYC apartment on the sixth floor in a walk up building. On an early Sunday afternoon in August when it was in the high 90s and quite humid he heard a dog whimpering. He saw a big, all black, HEFTY, big boned dog tied up to a lamp post. He brought down water for her and kept bringing it all afternoon. Finally, in the early evening he said, "Fuck it" and brought her upstairs as it was clear she was abandoned. They were quite a pair. You did not dare approach Griffen in any way she could perceive as being threatening to him or she would have torn your limbs off. She adored him.
