Rio Recommendations

I'm planning the first of what may be many trips to Ripo this coming winter to get away from the Chicago Cold.

 

This site has given me tons of information about Clubs,Boys and Baths. I have also seen a number of people here post about renting apartments in Rio versus staying in hotels. I'm really interested in that.

 

I was wondering if anyone could give me some good relaible recommendations of places that I could go online to look at at choose an apartment. Also, what is the going rate for apartments by the week during the summer season?

 

Finally, if anyone knows of any good travel resources such as travel guides or websites that they could recommend, it would be appreciated. I'll probably make a side trip to Igassu Falls and possibly Buenos Aires or Sao Paulo. Any recommendations on either of those would be appreciated too.
