Hi Guys. A friend and I will be going to Turkey in the fall. I was hoping that someone here who has traveled in the region can give us some leads for inexpensive Pensiones,Guest houses or Hotels, Particularly in Istanbul and those that are okay with two guys sharing a bed.

Thanks for your help guys.

You're very lucky. Turkey is an amazing nation. One year after my first visit and I still think about it nearly every day. I can't help you with pensiones (I stayed at tthe 4-seasons in Istanbul, and it's remarkable), but I would think Lonely Planet would be your best resource.

Definitely see Ephesus-you can fly to Izmir or Bus to Ephesus. Try to make it down to Bodrum if you can. Be sure to hire guides everywhere you go. In Instanbul you really should splurge for a good guide for two days, not just one. You see things more efficiently and get insider information on history and current events.

Enjoy yourself, it's a singular (seminal?) city.

Thanks for the input. I will take your advice and as I am finding some great specials in hotels maybe I can pick up a better establishment as well :-)

Regards
