OK, I admit it. I am a Reality TV Junkie. And yes it is also true that I often vote for the cutest guys on whatever show I am watching. I am forced now to change my ways with the crew on Big Brother 5. They do have some amazing looking guys. However, it is virtually impossible for me to cheer them on with their cocky, arrogant demeanor. Drew is the only hottie on the show with both class and charm. I'd hire him in a heart beat. The other guys I couldn't even see myself befriending.

I’m a junky also and Big Brother is one of the best. I know what you mean about this season though. Usually there is someone that you love to hate. (Remember evil Dr. Will from a couple of seasons ago?) You root against them in a fun way. They keep it interesting.

This season, Scott and Jase just epitomize everything that is ugly about American alpha breeder-boys. Jase can be a little charming, but I have yet to see a single redeeming quality in Scott. Either the producers are choosing not to air anything complimentary or there simply isn’t anything good for them to show.

You bring up a good point. The Producers of Reality Shows do try to influence the flow of the shows by carefully selecting particular types of people. I do not think it is a coincidence that we have two alpha frat boys who immediately gravitated to each other as though they were closseted gay boys on campus.

Just a thought........ What would happen if you put a preditory Gay guy with killer looks like the charactor on "Queer as Folk" in with 3 or 4 horny frat boys and all unattractive girls?????

I can't stand most "reality" shows, but I got hooked on Big Brother the very first year, and like the previous posters, watch it mainly for the "eye candy!!!"

This year's cast---and I use that word specifically, rather than "house guests"--seems to epitomize the producers trying to not only influence the flow of the show, but also to manipulate the cast members themselves.

For example: what the f--- is it with "Cowboy" and "Nakomis" aka Jennifer? First they have this DNA crap and they reveal that the two are half-siblings, and then it's dropped more or less. What gives with that?

The twin DNA (Do Not Assume) twist is another one that puzzles me. If the twins make it to a certain point, then both can be in the house and compete. Duhhh. How could one of them possibly win, once the rest of the cast realise what's been going on and there are identical twins in the running for the money?

Jase/Scott/Drew/Cowboy: The Four Horsemen. I cannot figure out what Cowboy is doing with this crew. He is the misfit, and I suspect will be the first to either be evicted or break with them. Drew is the cutest of the cast---and yet once you set aside his clean-cut good looks and killer smile---what's there? He has a certain vacuousness that makes me wonder. Scott? Total con man who is isn't worth the trouble. Jase? Not sure why he is so stuck on himself---must have got an overdose of self-esteem at whatever middle school he graduated from, or still attends.

Having said all this, I'll still watch, and hope that Will will survive long enough to kick some "macho butt!!!"

I agree with you. It is kind of weird and comes across as staged.

You are right, they would dominate the show and become the biggest threat.

Cowboy is being used buy the "Three Horseman." I suspect that Cowboy was one of the unpopular Nerds in High School who always wanted to be with the "In Click." The guys are using him for his vote. By setting up an all straight, white male click which in their Jock Minds eye, cannot possibly looose to a gay guy or girls.

Me too. I think WIll has a good chance if someone votes off Scott or Jase

The episode on Saturday was the funniest BIG BROTHER ever. The conversation with Holly, Scott and Jase about how hard it is to be good-looking killed me, only to be followed by the idiot Scott spelling STEAK in the food competition when they had already won beef -- and then misspelling CHEESE. The women and Will really have to step up to the plate during the competitions and GET RID OF THESE STRAIGHT GUYS!

Posted

I was wondering whether any of the other "Big Brother Junkies" would comment on Saturday's show!!!

The food competition: the more I think about the choices they spelt out, the more I have to shake my head. But then I think it might be a "generational" thing. Beer? Wine? Beef? Pizza? Cheese? Steak? Pork? Cola? And oh, yes, apples.

Do these twenty-somethings think they are going to stay "beautiful and buff" with that kind of diet? No vegetables? Not from ONE of them? Hard to believe. For all there posturing and posing and working out, they have a lot to learn about how to treat their bodies.

Do you suppose the arrogance of the "Four Horsemen" is a producer-style set up, to get the viewers to despise them and root for some of the others?

Reading over my posting, I have to laugh at myself---here I am criticising participants on a "reality" show for their lousy choice of food and I am sitting in my living room watching this "junk food" programme!!!! So who's the bigger fool???

Posted

To be sure, none of them are Einsteins. It was unbelievable how much this one episode demonstrated how limited these guys are. For example, they didn't know that steak is beef. LOL!!!!

Tuesday Night's episode was disappointing to me. I do not get Drew, unfortunately. He reads the Bible and seems to be genuinely fond of Diane and then stabs her in the back by "caving in" to the three other horsemen? And crying? Then saying in the diary room that he hates the kind of guys the horsemen are, OUTSIDE the house? Shallow, shallow shallow, in spite of the pretty-boy good looks.

And what is with Scott? Standing there, on camera, talking to Drew and scratching his balls!! It's a turn-on to me. Is it intentional? Just a habit? And how can the other bozos in the house believe that he is a professional football player when he wears the same cheap cut-off sweats every day. And damn, I don't see "much" swinging around in those sweats, do you???

Jase? Brad Pitt wanabee? Or does he just lust after Brad Pitt who he feels looks like him? Humm, does he really want to f--- himself?

Marvin: Not sure what I think of him---he certainly is playing some kind of game and I shouldn't be surprised if he pulls a fast one on somebody/some group ????

Another classic "Scott" last night. He had to guess if someone was telling the truth when they said that they confided in their step-father, but he couldn't cause he doesn't know what "confide" means!

As for his dick--he posed in Playgirl--I have two of the pics but I don't know how to embed pics in these posts. (and no, its not much).

I've been a fan of Big Brother since it first appeard, a few years ago. However, this year, it is just plain STUPID. There is NOBODY in the show to root for and while Drew may be cute to look at, he certainly is as brainless as the other 4 "horseman". Jase and Scott are the most repulsive individuals ever to have been exposed on national tv. Their housemates are just as stupid to allow them to get away with all that crap. Holly???? A rubber blow up doll has more sex appeal than that idiot.

THEY ARE ALL LOOSERS and frankly I don't give a damn who gets to win. This is the worst example of trying to put together a group of people to live together for weeks.

Reluctant follower of Big Brother this season given the losers in the house. It was nice to see Jace's girlfriend voted out this weekend, although I admit to feeling a bit sorry for her. It appears she really IS that stupid (judging by the post eviction interview) and it wasn't all an act. It was also gratifying to see that even Scott & Jace's mothers are disappointed by their sons' behaviors. Will (the gay guy) seems to get more handsome each week. He looks very familiar to me, as if he has a strong resemblance to an actor, but I cannot seem to figure it out. Does anyone else think Will resembles another entertainment personality? I was thinking Andrew McCarthy, but I'm not certain that's the guy I'm thinking of. Drew's a hottie but a disappointing wimp. Wonder who will outlast the 'button-pushing' stunt? I'd like to see someone other than the 4 whoresman get it this week.

I think it was interesting to see that I wasn't the only one waiting for the post eviction interview. I was really hoping that her Barbie doll act was just that, an act. Sadly for her, it is really who she is.

I think Drew is unbelievably cute. But I also agree he is a big wimp. The Mom's have themselves to blame for the spoiled, self absorbed son's they produced.

"A" is one of the few people in the house I like. She and her sister seem to have the right stuff.

Holly, the blonde ditz, was voted out 7 to 1 which was a bit of a shocker given the guys were supposed to rally around to save her. Jace appears to be the only one to have voted for her. HOH wasn't decided as it's an endurance contest and was still going on at the end of the broadcast. The boys seem to be bickering a bit more than usual so perhaps that alliance is due to collapse soon. The twist is supposed to be revealed to the house next week so whether the girls still hang together will depend on how pissed they were to have been had by Adria/Natalie. Also, one of the twins will likely be voted out almost immediately since that's an obvious (unbreakable) alliance.

>It was also gratifying to see that even Scott & Jace's mothers

I wonder if it dawned on the moms who raised such sons? ;-)

PLEASE tell me why she decided to put the one person who wasn't in any alliance up instead of Cowboy???? I mean, I can understand why she didn't put Drew up. If I had in my bed every night, I'd take him to the finals. Lucky B*!@H

She choose the one person I think we all agree doesn't have a chance of making it to the finals. The guys will make sure of that. She should have ensured that one of the 4 horsemen went this week. Bad call on her part.

Conjecture: I'm not sure Diane is very bright---why didn't she "load" up Jase's piggy bank for example??? Duhhhh. Her "thing" for Drew may have led to her nomination of Marvin---he's (Drew) being played by Jase and Scott, big time. As for nomination "Cowboy," I think she genuinely likes him, and doesn't really get the fact that he is one of the Four Horsemen, which still baffles me. Finally, I think she honestly believes that Scott will be voted out and her goal will be accomplished---to get rid of ONE of the men.

Personally, I wanted to gag when Jase won the Golden Veto. He is either the greatest actor in the house, or the most immature a--h---I have ever watched on this programme. I can understand ratings, and can only hope that he is being "fed" this line to play it up this way. Otherwise, does any 28 year old male behave this way? I could understand a 16 year old, maybe, but.......

Posted

They are all characters out of the movie "JACKASS"...you don't expect any of these loosers to behave with any kind of intelligence do you. Whoever picked these loosers to be on the program deserves to be boiled in oil. I don't root for any of them....not even Drew who is just as dumb as he is cute.

If you can't find one character to root for, then there is no incentive to watch this program and, certainly the behavior of these two idiots Jace and Scott, prooves that the "producers" are just as stupid as the "house guests".

Posted

You know until very recently, I would have agreed with you. But the person I have finally identified with and have started rooting for is actually 2 people. It's the twins.

They are likeable and seem to be able to navigate through the game well. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

Tonight's episode was WORTH tolerating the Four Horseman crap for the first four weeks. Sure, there's less eye candy, but the look of shock on Scott's face (at eviction) and Jase's reaction to the Adria/Natalie twist AND the complete elimination of the boys early in the HOH competition were priceless moments of satisfaction. I'm loving this season right about now. :-)

It amazes me that the biggest bullies and braggers are also the biggest babies. Chase is such a big baby. What a brat. He crumbled like a 4 year old. Now his actions boarder on psychotic.

Also, isn't it interesting how quick Chase abandoned his alliance with the four horsemen the second Scott was gone.

Looks like there was only two horsemen in the house after all. Drew and Cowboy were just pawns. When will either of them figure it out???
