Can anyone recommend a good gay-oriented hotel or b and b in Chicago? My bf and I are going up there next weekend to visit his son and new wife.

Thanks!

Have you done a search? This has come up before.

The "good" hotels are all down near the loop, which isn't near boystown at all.

Closer to Boystown, my choice would be the Best Western Hawthorne Terrace. Fairly new renovation, just a couple of blocks from the bars on North Halstead.

There's also a Comfort Inn and a Days Inn at Broadway & Diversey that are acceptable. There's a Hyatt in the general vicinity, but I have no experience with it.

A perennial favorite is the Willows (formerly the Surf), although it's sort of a hike to get to anything from there.

Your choices are many. Perhaps if you tell everyone what you want in a hotel it would narrow down the selection. Close to shopping? Sightseeing? Bar-crawling?

Thanks, deej.

What Bruce (bf) wants is just a gay-owned place. His son and daughter-in-law live near Lincoln Park, I think, but the location isn't that important, because we'll be driving up from Indiana. He vaguely remembers a couple of places that are in older buildings built in the twenties. So I told him I'd see if I could find anything out.

I've haven't searched elsewhere yet; searching here I found tons of comments on mainstream hotels, but nothing about specifically gay places.

Thanks again!
