Brooklyn federal prosecutors are looking to run up the score on guys named Martin Shkreli.

 

Two months after Brooklyn federal jurors convicted the Pharma Bro in a split-verdict securities fraud trial, prosecutors say they'll offer a plea deal to a different Martin Shkreli in an unrelated criminal matter.

 

The other Shkreli, 59, is charged with money laundering in a case where prosecutors say one of the crime ring's leaders tried selling AK-47 rifles and a rocket launcher to authorities.

 

During a Monday court date, Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Keilty told Judge Kiyo Matsumoto said he was planning to send out plea offers to the 10 defendants.

 

The last time the elder Shkreli was in court, jurors were deliberating the fate of his more famous 34-year-old namesake.

 

Hours after the August court date for the elder Shkreli had finished, jurors said the Pharma Bro was guilty on three of eight charges. Shkreli is being held without bail while he appeals the conviction.

Poor Martin Shkreli. How simply frightful. How humiliating. How delightful. There is a part of me that feels that way, especially since the cost of my insulin jumped 400 % this year. Still, no one should have to endure prison conditions as poor as those described here. This isn't even a "for profit" prison is it? The idea of a for profit prison is an abomination.
