LOL!!! Bait Buddies (this ad) and Bait Bus all claim the fiction that they are filming straight guys who are so turned on that they willingly suck cock and get fucked for the money they are offered. Bait Bus makes a big deal of picking up a hunky "straight" hitch-hiker, introducing him to the girl on the bus who usually shows her boobs, blindfolding him so the gay guy on the bus can give him a bj, supposedly with him believing it is the girl going down on him. At some point he takes off the blindfold, is super shocked (right!) and then agrees for more money to fuck the guy or let the guy fuck him. Then they make an excuse to stop and leave the "straight" guy by the side of the road without paying him. It's all in a script and the actor playing the "straight" guy has signed a contract and actually been paid!

 

Bait Buddies does a variation and the actors portray friends or brother's/father's friends, supposedly both "straight," (one of whom is supposedly in on the con to seduce his friend or acquaintance) with a promise to the guys that they will be filming a sex scene with two other women. Eventually the director (behind the camera) states that the girls are held up and can't make the shoot, so he offers lots more money to the "straight" guys if they'll go ahead and have sex with each other. Once again, all scripted with signed contracts ahead of time. I know a gay porn actor who told me about his Bait Buddies experience. His account was very funny because he said he had an awful time trying to not laugh out loud during his dialogue (all pre-scripted) during his scene. :D:D

 

I suppose some of these actors may be gay 4 pay, but the majority are totally gay and these videos are absolutely for fantasy-fulfillment of a straight guy having gay sex for his "first" time for the right amount of money!

It's not even really a secret. Only someone who didn't know how the real world works could possibly believe these weren't set-ups. It's all a fantasy. To even post these videos online they would have had to get these guys to sign a release. So obviously they couldn't actually leave the guy on the side of the road and 'stiff' paying them as they show in Bait Bus. Often Bait Bus might have been early work of some porn guys. But even if they aren't popular porn stars, I'd say more often than not you can google their name and find other videos they've done.

 

I can remember both AJ Irons and Beaux Banner being on videos early in their career where they claimed to be straight (maybe they are) but had never been with a guy before.

I was indeed poking fun at the ad and not Mike..... I was very surprised that they could use Mike's image like that...

Legally, they can't. You can use a public figure's image in news or politics or commentary or satire, but you cannot use it to sell goods or services without that person's permission. The person need not be alive--his/her estate, family or whoever owns the rights can come after you. Obviously, it is not always worth the trouble to do so. One could get a lawyer to draft a letter asking the offending party or organization to desist.

Yes, I believe that is called "acting"--what people do in videos. I am reminded of a remark by Lilly Tomlin when asked how she managed to play heterosexual women so successfully. Tomlin replied, "I have no problem playing straight people--I know how they walk, I know how they talk."
