I always thought he looked too fat. Especially in the mid-40s. As Dietrich said "lay off the candy bars." I always preferred Gordon Scott or Mike Henry. Skargaard looks FABULOUS!

He was the tallest Tarzan ever so far at 6' 4 1/2" and though he was born clear back in 1938, he still looks damn fine for his age:

All that said, Alexander Skarsgård actually turns out to be the exact same height as Ely, and having seen him as the sexy Eric Northman for the entire run of True Blood, I will be definitely be seeing this Tarzan version for sure!

Interesting. Of course different tastes in men are what makes the world go 'round. I have always thought Alex's father was and is a great actor but I just don't find myself "attracted" to Stellan like I am to Alex!!!
