In cities like Dallas, Huston or even Austin I lower my incall rates because I don't want to rent a car. The conventional wisdom is that if you don't have a car in these cities you won't make money but I can tell you that Texas is one of the most lucrative states I have been to. I have been traveling there for 2 years now and I think I have only had outcalls a handful of times. I know I would be incredibly pissed if I had to drive 40 min only to get a cancelation where as if they just don't show up at my hotel room I can go out and get a bite to eat or work on some homework.

Not sure if my post from a few days ago went through, as I made it from the road on cellphone....but Alec, there is ABSOLUTELY truth to this situation. Dallas has historically been one of my strongest cities for a 2-3 day trip, usually I combine it with Houston and drive it. In on a Tues, out on a Saturday to get the cheaper flights. This most recent go around I had 5 appointments scratch- but luckily they were all NEW people that had contacted me, not 'regulars' or people that I had seen before. Was kinda at what I feel is a safe 'quota' energy wise(I like to stay fresh and amp'd up), before I even ARRIVED in Dallas, so I kinda hadn't even reached out to guys I'd seen before. Once the scratches started happening I had to work the phones texts and emails a bit to fill the schedule, but luckily the day could be saved, put it that way.

 

If there is in fact a 'Dallas Escort Mafia', here's my fuckin' solution for it. We don't turn AWAY from a problem, we turn towards it and confront it. The touring guys ought to STOMP on Dallas on 2016; I'll book 4 dates there right here and now if they wanna play games...I don't think ANY of you who have had bad experiences there should give up, because it's a strong city. And Kurtis is wicked professional and thorough in what he suggests in vetting phone numbers- it's google voice or magicjack they're gonna use to play games. Even prepaid cells you have to use an ID to get nowadays, and changing the number isn't as easy as it used to be. Let's wear these guys out and take that city back. If there is in fact a group of locals playing games, they should put more effort into their WORK and their sessions then their vindictiveness.

 

Tristan is absolutely right! The people who are doing this are cowards and are only jealous of the hotter and more popular escorts. The escorts visiting should not be scared off by this group at all. I hope all escorts develop some kind of plan to combat what these people are doing.

When it comes to Texas my experience is limited to Austin and the DFW area. Now I've never heard of nor ran into the "Dallas Escort Mafia" but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if such a thing exists. I may just be fortunate enough to not be on their "hit list".

 

The problem with DFW is that it is such a large area geographically that if you're doing an out-call, you may be driving for an hour or more just to reach a client. This is why the DFW area receives more criticism when I perform background checks, etc. because it can be a time & money waster if it turns out to be a fake booking.

 

So I'll reveal one check that I perform when doing my background check on clients. Run the number through http://www.freecarrierlookup.com/

 

It'll let you know what the carrier of the phone number is so you can get an idea if its a phone number attached to a physical phone or a virtual number attached to a Google Voice number or a burner number. In my experience, most clients will utilize a number attached to a physical phone and you will get a few every so often using Google Voice. If you notice a large number of bookings utilizing Google Voice or burner numbers, you may want to run additional verifications to determine if the booking is legitimate.

Not to reveal too much of my trip to Dallas and the Cotton Bowl, but let's just say I had no need to fear the Dallas Mafia or their tactics with traveling guys. I had a great time with my best buddy who is also a great wing man. I haven't been to a gay bar in this decade but he convinced me to go to the Eagle on NYE and let's just say that I woke up in 2016 with more than one ginger muscle cub in the bed. Also the Growlr app was very good to me. Not to be too cocky but let's just say that the cubs and otters of Dallas were very eager to show this Colorado bear a very good time.

So visited Dallas this past week for 2 days... I had been once before and it was kind to me back then. This time... not so much. I literally had an 80% Flake / No Show rate on Friday. Back to Back to Back to Back...

 

They all confirmed with me the night before.. and then confirmed with me the morning of... but when the appointed time came around... no show.. and radio silence. Ok.. so one flake is normal and expected.. but a bunch all on the same day. I was perturbed.

 

Today, I meet with a wonderful new client in Baltimore and told him my woes... poor poor Alec after all.. and he said... oh.. you don't know about the notorious Dallas Escort Mafia? I said no! Apparently, and only really in Dallas, the local escorts collude together to book appts. with the traveling escorts and then obviously no show.. in an effort to encourage them to not come back.

 

So two questions:

 

1. Has anyone else ever heard of this? Specifically in Dallas or are there other places?

 

2. Lets say that this is true... If I went back to Dallas and asked a client for a $50 show of good faith paypal deposit (which I hate doing and only ever make people do for plane tickets).. Would that turn you off as a potential real client? I suspect so.... so then what to do? Let the local escorts win and just not visit that market? Just suck it up and know that Dallas will have a high flake average?

Thanks for the enlightenment. As a 35 year Dallas resident this thread was a tough read to be honest. Sorry this is an issue (escort mafia) as it's a terrible situation for traveling escorts and a lowlife thing to do to anyone.

 

There's a lot of good people here (and I'd like to think I'm one of them), so it's a bit painful to see some of the bad experiences and impressions of Dallas people have of my home for so long.
