I just noticed it's no longer possible to drag and save pics off of Rentmen ads, making it more difficult or perhaps impossible to do image searches to verify if an escort's pictures are his own or swiped from the internet. Is there any alternative?

has been a concern for a bit among us.....in Chrome, I can't do a regular right-click and "search google for this image" anymore with rentmen pictures.....

but I heard there is a new way to do it here....albeit a bit more roundabout.....

can anybody who knows help out??....thanks

I guess this is rentmens way of making sure we don't image search and call them out on the fakers. loss of income I guess :p

I just highlight the picture, copy it, open up wordpad, paste, and then im able to right click save

I just made the discovery that you can still drag and save the thumbnails in Photos Preview. They're small but they still work for search purposes. In fact, with my first try using one of those thumbnails I uncovered a fake.

I'll use Jordan's ad as an example.

  1. Open the page in Chrome: http://rentmen.com/HotJordanF

  2. Cycle through all the pictures. You must do this to load images into your local cache.

  3. Right-click --> inspect. The window will split horizontally. The bottom shows the underlying script. This is a very nice developer tool included in chrome by google. Ignore nearly everything you see.
  4. In the top margin of the bottom window, click resources.
  5. The bottom window will split vertically. In the left pane click frames --> (HotJordanF) --> images. This will expand the list of images that have been cached in your current browser session. Pick the one you want. For example, my personal favorite: http://media1.rentmen.com/public/photos/main/2/112369_1440734557_jt6wx9hxqw.jpg
  6. Right-click open link in new tab.
  7. Select the newly-opened tab.

  8. Right-click Search Google for image.

Is it not possible to do a screenshot of one of the pictures and do the search that way?

Even if not, an alternative and clumsier 'cheat' than VHC's very elegant solution for those of us who might not be computer savvy, would be to take a screen shot of the pictures in question with your smartphone. Then email the pictures to yourself. Open up your email on your computer and download them. Save the pictures somewhere you can find them like the desktop. Then you can open up Google Image Search and drag the pictures to it for the search.

yeah, I saw the "expired" note.....maybe he hasn't paid up this month?.....or found a "benefactor'??

He last logged into Rentmen on the 5th-or was it the 6th. Did you manage to meet him, Azdr?

Nobody seems to have acknowledged what I said about using the thumbnails. It's done just like it used to be with the enlarged photos. It's so easy that I don't know why anyone would feel the need to go through all this right click/left click/screenshot/etc. rigamarole. Try it for yourself and see.

If I hear anybody complain about how complicated it's gotten to do an image search of RM pictures I'm going to slap you.

I've had trouble using thumbnails before on some sites because the pictures are too small. When I've tried, Image Search comes back and says 'too tiny' :(

I've tried a bunch of the little ones from RM and they've all worked. Maybe RM's thumbnails aren't as tiny as some others. Try them until you run into one that it rejects and then resort to the time-consuming method for that one.

Acknowledged! You're right. The simple solution is always the best. ☺

To be honest, I never tried it with thumbnails. I'm so used to looking at code that when my context menu stopped working I just went straight to the source.

Another way to access the pics through Chrome:

When you right-click on a pic, one of the options will be "view page source." Click on this, and another tab will open. At some point on that page, the photos will all be listed by clickable hyperlinks which start with:

<a class="rm-gallery-item" href="//media1.rentmen.com/public/photos/main - and a bunch of numbers. Clicking on any of these links will open a new tab with that particular pic. You can then search from there.

Yes, met him a few months ago. Good guy.

He used to go by the name James. His handler who also reps who was always Jordan didn't bother to change the name when he switched the ad over to his other charge this time.

I'm not sure, but I think you might need to edit this. I have a feeling autocorrect did you in.

And are you saying this escort and another one have a handler who switches the ad between the two guys. But how would that affect the ad being expired? I'm so confused.

I don't know anything about the ad being expired.

All I'm saying is that the agent or handler or whatever term is most accurate who reps James, Jordan, Tony Capucci, and several other straight guys who don't advertise buys an ad and changes the info, pictures and text to whichever escort is available in a certain location and time. If you search 'James' on here you'll find several threads about him and several mentions of this handler phenomenon, which some indignant members use the term 'pimp' to describe. He usually keeps the names straight but this time James' pictures and info are under the name Jordan, who is mixed Afro-American and Caucasian or Latino.

I don't think I've ever seen the pix of the guy currently featured in the expired ad. This guy doesn't strike me as the type this handler would represent.
